THE SYSTEM ORGANIZATION HAS AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN FACILITATING AND OVERSEEING THE DEVELOPMENT, EFFECTIVE AND EFFICIENT IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CGIAR STRATEGY AND RESULTS FRAMEWORK. THE SYSTEM ORGANIZATION ENTERS INTO AGREEMENTS WITH THE TRUSTEE OF THE CGIAR TRUST FUND, FUNDERS, CENTERS AND OTHER RELEVANT ENTITIES FOR FUNDING CGIAR RESEARCH AND OTHER ACTIVITIES OF THE CGIAR SYSTEM. THE CGIAR IS THE WORLD'S LARGEST GLOBAL AGRICULTURAL INNOVATION NETWORK. THE CGIAR PROVIDES EVIDENCE TO POLICY MAKERS, INNOVATION TO PARTNERS, AND NEW TOOLS TO HARNESS THE ECONOMIC, ENVIRONMENTAL AND NUTRITIONAL POWER OF AGRICULTURE.

THE FINANCIAL RESOURCES AND STRUCTURE OF THE CGIAR SYSTEM ORGANIZATION ("SYSTEM ORGANIZATION") WERE STRATEGICALLY UTILIZED THROUGH 2021 TO FULFILL THE SYSTEM ORGANIZATION FIDUCIARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TO SUPPORT THE TRANSITION TOWARD ONE CGIAR. AN IMPORTANT STEP IN THE TRANSITION TOWARD ONE CGIAR IN 2021 WAS THE ENDORSEMENT BY THE SYSTEM COUNCIL OF A NEW OPERATIONAL STRUCTURE ENCOMPASSING RESEARCH DELIVERY AND IMPACT, GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT AND INNOVATION, AND INSTITUTIONAL STRATEGY AND SYSTEMS. MANAGERIAL APPOINTMENTS FOR THE FUNCTIONING OF THIS OPERATIONAL STRUCTURE WERE MADE, WITH GLOBAL, REGIONAL, AND SCIENCE GROUP DIRECTORS APPOINTED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
THE ADVISORY SERVICES PROVIDES IMPARTIAL AND EXPERT ADVICE RELATED TO STRATEGIC PLANNING AND POSITIONING, PROGRAM EVALUATION AND IMPACT ASSESSMENT TO THE CGIAR SYSTEM AND BRINGS INCREASED CGIAR CAPACITY AND REPRESENTATION IN A KEY LOCATION FOR THE FOOD SECURITY COMMUNITY.
