THE BEVERLY HILLS BASKETBALL LEAGUE USUALLY CONDUCTS A WINTER AND SPRING BASKETBALL LEAGUE FOR APPROXIMATELY 1,800 PARTICIPANTS COMBINED FOR BOTH SEASONS. DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC BOTH THE WINTER AND SPRING OF 2021 SEASONS WERE ELIMINATED. WHEN THE SEASONS ARE PLAYED, THE PLAYING PARTICIPANTS RANGE IN AGE FROM FIVE TO SIXTEEN. THE LEAGUE RECREATIONAL YOUTH BASKETBALL PROGRAM TEACHES PARTICIPANTS THE PRINCIPLES OF POSITIVE COACHING, SPORTSMANSHIP, CHARACTER, TEAMWORK AND FAIR PLAY. A FOCUS OF THE BEVERLY HILLS BASKETBALL LEAGUE IS TO TEACH OUR YOUTH ATHLETES TO UNDERSTAND HOW TO BECOME BETTER ATHLETES AND BETTER PEOPLE THROUGH THE GAME OF BASKETBALL. THE LEAGUE PROVIDES ITS VOLUNTEER COACHES AND PARENTS/GUARDIANS WITH EDUCATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR POSITIVE COACHING, LEADERSHIP, AND BASKETBALL SKILLS TRAINING TECHNIQUES. A GOAL OF THE LEAGUE IS TO CREATE A POSITIVE CULTURE AMONG ALL PARTICIPANTS TO PROVIDE AN ENVIRONMENT THAT CAN TEACH OUR YOUNG ATHLETES IMPORTANT LIFE LESSONS WHILE HAVING FUN PLAYING BASKETBALL.
