MCINTYRE HOUSE IS A LONG TERM RESIDENTIAL SUBSTANCE ABUSE RECOVERY PROGRAM WITH 16 BEDS. MCINTYRE HOUSE PROVIDES STRUCTURED SERVICES FOR ABOUT 70 RESIDENTS PER YEAR, WHO STAY IN THE HOUSE UP TO ONE YEAR AND ARE OFFERED FULL RESIDENTIAL AND RECOVERY SERVICES. THE PROGRAM IS LICENSED BY THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH CARE SERVICES (DHCS). PROGRAM ACTIVITIES INCLUDE EDUCATIONAL, THERAPEUTIC AND SUPPORT GROUP ACTIVITIES AS WELL AS INDIVIDUAL CASE MANAGEMENT. THE MCINTYRE HOUSE PRIMARY BEHAVIORAL OUTCOME OBJECTIVE IS THAT 80% OF ALL RESIDENTS WHO COMPLETE THE PROGRAM (9 MONTHS OR MORE) WILL FULLY ABSTAIN FROM ALL NON-PRESCRIBED PSYCHOACTIVE DRUGS AND ALCOHOL. OTHER OUTCOMES INCLUDE IMPROVED AND STABLE PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH; ABSTINENCE FROM CRIMINAL AND ANTISOCIAL BEHAVIOR; PERMANENT HOUSING; FULL TIME EMPLOYMENT; DECREASE OR ABSENCE OF HIGH-RISK SEXUAL BEHAVIORS; ROUTINE ATTENDANCE AT OUTSIDE SUPPORT GROUPS; AND ROUTINE PARTICIPATION IN VOLUNTEER WORK OR COMMUNITY SERVICE ACTIVITIES.
