THE JOHN DOUGLAS FRENCH ALZHEIMER'S FOUNDATION (JDFAF) BOARD OF DIRECTORS DEVELOPED A FUTURE DIRECTION, LAYING OUT THE STRATEGIC IMPLEMENTATION OF A PLAN TO ENABLE JDFAF TO MOST EFFECTIVELY FULFILL ITS ORIGINAL MISSION - TO ACCELERATE FINDING A CURE OR TREATMENT FOR ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE AND OTHER NEURODEGENERATIVE DISEASES - RECOGNIZING THE SIGNIFICANT HISTORY, CURRENT REALITIES AND NEW ADVANCES IN DRUG DISCOVERY AND POTENTIAL TREATMENTS. THE JDFAF BOARD OF DIRECTORS DECIDED THAT THE FUTURE IS NOW AND JDFAF ESTABLISHED EIGHT ENDOWMENTS TO SUPPORT PROFESSORSHIPS ACROSS FOUR TOP UNIVERSITIES IN CALIFORNIA AND CREATED A COMPREHENSIVE CONSORTIUM FOR ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE WITH AN ENDOWMENT TO HOST AN ANNUAL MEETING. JDFAF IS GRATEFUL TO CONTINUE TO RECEIVE GENEROUS DONATIONS FROM ESTATES, TRUSTS AND INDIVIDUALS; HOWEVER, WITHIN THE NEXT FOUR YEARS, WE ANTICIPATE THE MAJORITY OF THE FUNDS WILL BE DONATED TO ACCELERATE JDFAF'S MISSION.
