THE ORGANIZATION WAS SUCCESSFUL IN HOLDING TOURNAMENTS, INCLUDING THE CHARITY TOURNAMENT FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS, THE DAVE SHELTON MEMORIAL, AND THE ALL STAR RECREATIONAL TOURNAMENT THAT BRINGS LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS TOGETHER FOR COMPETITIVE PLAY. IN ADDITION, THE CLUB WAS ALSO SELECTED TO HOST A FEW OF THE COVETED STATE CUP COMPETITIONS DURING THE SPRING.DURING THE YEAR, THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED OVER $10,000 IN SCHOLARSHIPS FOR CHILDREN TO PLAY SOCCER THAT WOULD OTHERWISE NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO FINANCIALLY AFFORD THE EXPERIENCE. AS A BOARD, WE REALIZE THAT THE NEED IS MUCH GREATER, AND HAVE MADE A STRONG COMMITMENT TO INCREASE THE AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIPS THAT ARE AWARDED. A NEW POSITION WAS CREATED, DIRECTOR OF MARKETING, WHICH HAS SUCCESSFULLY LAUNCHED SEVERAL FUND RAISING CAMPAIGNS AND APPLIED FOR COUNTY GRANTS TO ASSIST WITH THE FIELD MAINTENANCE AND SAFETY. IN ADDITION, THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUES TO SEEK COMMUNITY PARTNERS. ADDITIONALLY, ON AN ANNUAL BASIS WE ARE ALLOCATING A PORTION OF THE NET INCOME TO FUND SCHOLARSHIPS IN THE FOLLOWING YEAR.
