THE STUDENT GOVERMENT OF OCCIDENTAL COLLEGE EXISTS TO FURTHER THE MISSION OF THE COLLEGE - TO BE THE VOICE OF THE STUDENT BODY, PROVIDE SERVICES, TO CREATE AN AIR OF COOPERATION AND FREEEDOM OF THOUGHT AND SPEECH AND TO FURTHER AN OPEN AND CIVIL DIALOUGUE IN SUPPORT OF EACH STUDENT'S EXPERIENCE OF A LIBERAL ARTS EDUCATION.

THE RENEWABLE ENERGY/SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAM WAS ESTABLISHED TO PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH THE RESOURCES TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR SOCIAL, ENVIRONMENTAL, FINANCIAL WELLNESS AND INTEGRATING HOLISTIC COMMUNITIES AND SUSTAINABLE LIFESTYLES.
ASSOCIATED STUDENT OF OCCIDENTAL COLLEGE ALONG WITH THE OFFICE OF STUDENT LIFE CREATES A VIBRANT COMMUNITY BY OFFERING SUPPORT FOR STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS AND CLUBS. WE WORK TO CREATE INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS, ORIENTATION PROGRAMS, EVENTS, AND GENERAL STUDENT ACTIVITIES. EQUITY IN OFFICE OF STUDENT LIFE IS PROVIDING AN OPEN INVITATION TO ALL OXY STUDENTS TO TAKE PART IN ANY OF OUR AVAILABLE PROGRAMS AND ACTIVELY REMOVING BARRIERS THAT MAY PREVENT THEM FROM PARTICIPATING.
OXY TV, RADIO, AND NEWSPAPER IS RUN BY THE STUDENTS OF THE COLLEGE AND THE PROGRAMMING IS AIM TO BROADCAST AND PUBLISH EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION. THE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED AS A FREE-FORM, WITH A LOT OF CREATIVITY AND INDIVIDUALISM AND TO MAINTAIN THE STUDENT INFORMED ON CURRENT IMPORTANT EVENTS IN AND OUT OF THE CAMPUS.
