ASSISTANCE LEAGUE VOLUNTEERS TRANSFORMING THE LIVES OF CHILDREN THROUGH COMMUNITY PROGRAMS.

OPERATION SCHOOL BELL (OSB) PROVIDES ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS AT THIRTY-FOUR (34) ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS AND 10 INTERMEDIATE SCHOOLS OF THE SANTA ANA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT (SAUSD) WITH TWO COMPLETE SCHOOL UNIFORMS SETS (WHITE POLO SHIRT AND BOTTOMS: SHORTS, SKORTS OR PANTS), A JACKET, UNDERWEAR/BOXERS, TOILETRY KIT, SHOES, AND SOCKS. THE STUDENTS ALSO RECEIVE A NEW BACKPACK FILLED WITH SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND A NEW BOOK. OSB, LOCATED AT THE ASSISTANCE LEAGUE OF SANTA ANAS FACILITY, IS THE ONLY ORGANIZATION PROVIDING FREE UNIFORMS TO CHILDREN IN SAUSD.


COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE OUTREACH PROGRAM PROVIDES TARGETED SHORT TERM PHILANTHROPIC SERVICES TO RESIDENTS OF SANTA ANA INCLUDING HOLIDAY GIFTS TO SENIORS, HOLIDAY GIFT OF GIVING TO MIGRANT WORKER FAMILIES, ASSISTANCE TO LOCAL WOMENS SHELTERS, CARE PACKAGES FOR SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS, HUMAN TRAFFICKING PREVENTION, AND CARE FOR VICTIMS.


THE DENTAL CENTER, LOCATED AT THE ASSISTANCE LEAGUE OF SANTA ANAS FACILITY, PROVIDES LOW-COST DENTAL CARE TO DENTI-CAL AND UNINSURED CHILDREN AND ADULTS. THE DENTAL CENTER IS STAFFED BY A LICENSED DENTIST, DENTAL ASSISTANT, BILINGUAL OFFICE STAFF, AND VOLUNTEERS. PATIENTS RECEIVE INDIVIDUAL INSTRUCTION ON PROPER ORAL CARE AND NUTRITION AND ARE GIVEN A DENTAL HYGIENE KIT BY THE VOLUNTEERS.
