SCRIPPS COLLEGE ("SCRIPPS") IS AN INDEPENDENT, LIBERAL ARTS COLLEGE FOR WOMEN WITH A DISTINCTIVE INTERDISCIPLINARY CORE CURRICULUM OFFERING INSTRUCTION IN THE HUMANITIES, FINE ARTS, AND THE NATURAL AND SOCIAL SCIENCES. SCRIPPS HAS AN ENROLLMENT OF APPROXIMATELY 900 STUDENTS. FOUNDED IN 1926, THE CAMPUS IS ON THE NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES. ITS MISSION IS TO EDUCATE WOMEN TO DEVELOP THEIR INTELLECT AND TALENTS THROUGH ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN A COMMUNITY OF SCHOLARS, SO THAT AS GRADUATES THEY MAY CONTRIBUTE TO SOCIETY THROUGH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE LIVES OF LEADERSHIP, SERVICE, INTEGRITY AND CREATIVITY.
