THE CORPORATION SHALL PROMOTE, WITHIN THE TERRITORY COVERED BY THE CHARTER FROM TIME TO TIME GRANTED IT BY THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONGRESSIONAL CHARTER, BYLAWS, AND RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA, THE SCOUTING PROGRAM OF PROMOTING THE ABILITY OF BOYS, YOUNG MEN, AND WOMEN TO DO THINGS FOR THEMSELVES AND OTHERS, TRAINING THEM IN SCOUTCRAFT, AND TEACHING THEM PATRIOTISM, COURAGE, SELF-RELIANCE, AND KINDRED VIRTUES, USING THE METHODS WHICH ARE NOW IN COMMON USE BY THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA.

Part 3 - Line 4a

WEBELOS WOODSWEBOLOS WOODS IS A WEEKEND CAMPING EVENT FOR SCOUTS AGES 9 AND 10 (WEBELOS SCOUTS). WEBELOS ATTEND AND CAMP WITH THEIR PARENTS. THE PURPOSE OF THE EVENT IS TO GIVE WEBELOS SCOUTS AN OPPORTUNITY TO MEET SCOUTS FROM TROOPS IN THE AREA THAT THEY MAY BE INTERESET INTO PROMOTING INTO ONCE THEY BECOME 11 YEARS OLD. TROOPS PROVIDE ACTIVITIES FOR THE PARTICIPANTS THAT TEACH NEW SKILLS AND ARE FUN. THE EVENT IS STAFFED BY ADULT VOLUNTEERS AND OLDER YOUTH.


NATIONAL JAMBOREETHE NATIONAL JAMBOREE IS AN EVENT HELD ONCE EVERY FOUR YEARS. SCOUTS FROM ACROSS THE UNITED STATES CONVERGE ON A SITE IN WEST VIRGINIA TO PARTICIPATE IN HIGH ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES. SCOUTS WILL ALSO FELLOWSHIP WITH PEERS FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY. THE 2021 JAMBOREE WAS POSTPONE. THIS ACTIVITY REPRESENTS THE EFFORT TO SEND A CONTIGENT FROM BAKERSFIELD AND KERN COUNTY TO THIS ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME PROGRAM IN THE SUMMER OF 2022.


NYLT GREY WOLFNATIONAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP TRAINING IS A WEEK-LONG CAMPING EXPERIENCE FOR SCOUTS AGES 13 AND UP. THE PURPOSE OF THIS EVENT IS TO PROVIDE A FORUM FOR LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT IN THE OUTDOORS. THE PROGRAM IS STAFFED BY ADULT VOLUNTEERS AND OLDER YOUTH. SOME OF THE SKILLS TAUGHT AT THIS COURSE INCLUDE: PROBLEM SOLVING, COMMUNICATION, DEVELOPING A TEAM AND SITUATIONAL LEADERSHIP.
