TECH WORKPLACE INITIATIVES FOCUSES ON STRENGTHENING THE FIELD OF DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION PRACTITIONERS IN TECH COMPANIES. IT ALSO PROVIDES RESOURCES AND GUIDANCE FOR TECH COMPANY EMPLOYEES TO SELF-ORGANIZE FOR GREATER REPRESENTATION, RETENTION, AND CAREER ADVANCEMENT IN THE TECH INDUSTRY.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT - THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES PROGRAMMING AND RESOURCES TO BUILD PATHWAYS INTO TECHNOLOGY AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP WITHIN OAKLAND AND THE EAST BAY. THE TECH ECOSYSTEMS FOCUS AREA ALSO BUILDS RELATIONSHIPS AND EXPLORES OPPORTUNITIES TO BUILD A NETWORK OF INCLUSIVE TECH ECOSYSTEMS IN OTHER CITIES ACROSS THE NATION. ADDITIONALLY, THE ORGANIZATION ALSO SUPPORTS EXTERNAL EFFORTS THAT ALIGN WITH THE FOUNDATION'S MISSION, AS WELL AS FOSTER GOOD COMMUNITY RELATIONS, PRIMARILY THROUGH EVENT SPONSORSHIPS, SMALL GRANTS, AND PROVIDING SPACE UTILIZATION IN THE FOUNDATION'S BUILDING FOR COMMUNITY EVENTS.

COLLECTIVELY, THESE EFFECTS EXPAND THE BODY OF KNOWLEDGE AROUND DIVERSITY IN TECH AND LEAD TO EFFORTS TO INFORM POLICY AND PRACTICE.
THE FOUNDATION ALSO PROVIDES FISCAL SPONSORSHIP FOR VARIOUS PROJECTS. THE FISCAL SPONSORSHIP IS MEANT TO PROVIDE A SHORT-TERM BRIDGE FOR SELECT EXTERNAL EFFORTS THAT ARE CLOSELY ALIGNED WITH OUR MISSION AND WORK, ENABLING PROJECT LEADERS TO RECEIVE FUNDS AND MANAGE PROJECT-RELATED EXPENSES WHILE MOVING WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME TOWARD INDEPENDENT 501(C)(3) STATUS OR A SUITABLE PUBLIC CHARITY AS A FISCAL SPONSOR.
