IN RESPONSE TO THE STATE'S GROWING HOMELESS CRISIS, KAHAUIKI VILLAGE IS A PLANTATION STYLE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DESIGNED TO HOUSE HAWAII'S HOMELESS FAMILIES. KAHAUIKI VILLAGE IS A GROUNDBREAKING INITIATIVE THAT MAXIMIZES PUBLIC AND PRIVATE RESOURCES TO IMPLEMENT A LONG-TERM STRATEGY AIMED TO ACHIEVE THE FOLLOWING OUTCOMES: PROVIDE HOMES FOR HOMELESS FAMILIES; PROVIDE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE FOR HOMELESS PARENTS; OFFER ACCOMODATION OPTIONS FOR EXTENDED FAMILIES. KAHAUIKI VILLAGE IS A COMMUNITY OF 144 ONE AND TWO BEDROOM HOMES. KAHAUIKI VILLAGE IS HOUSING OVER 600 ADULTS AND CHILDREN.


RISING TIDE IS A FREE COMMUNITY BY CENTRAL PACIFIC BANK TO HELP SMALL BUSINESSES IN HAWAII THRIVE THROUGH EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES, EVENTS, NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES, AND ACCESS TO CO-WORKING SPACES. THE GOAL IS TO FOSTER CONNECTIONS AND PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR LOCAL ENTREPRENEURS AND BUSINESSES TO GROW. MEMBERS CAN BE FEATURED ON THE RISING TIDE WEBSITE AND SOCIAL MEDIA TO SHOWCASE THEIR BUSINESS. RISING TIDE REPRESENTS THE IDEA THAT WHEN WE SUPPORT EACH OTHER, THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY BENEFITS. CENTRAL PACIFIC BANK AIMS TO OPEN DOORS FOR SMALL BUSINESSES IN HAWAII THROUGH THIS INCLUSIVE PROGRAM.


AIO FOUNDATION HAS PARTNERED WITH HUI MAHI'AI'AINA, A TAX-EXEMPT FOUNDATION UNDER SECTION 501(C)(3) WHOSE MAJOR GOALS ARE TO PROVIDE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR THOSE IN NEED AND HOUSELESS IN THE WAIMANALO COMMUNITY. THE PURPOSE OF HUI MAHI'AI'AINA IS TO: 1) INCREASE ACCESSIBILITY AND CULTIVATION OF HEALTHY FOOD, AS WELL AS PROVIDE EDUCATION IN NUTRITIONAL MANAGEMENT. 2) PROVIDE EDUCATION THAT PROMOTES SOCIAL CAPITAL AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE DISADVANTAGED AND HOUSELESS. 3) DEVELOP SUSTAINABLE FOOD SOVEREIGNTY AND RE-CAPTURING FOOD WASTE, THUS CREATING A SUSTAINABLE ECO-SYSTEM, AND PER-CAPITA FARMING PRODUCTIVITY, IN SUPPORT OF REVENUE STREAMING CAPABILITIES. 4) CULTIVATE, SUPPORT, AND ENHANCE GROWTH THRU PARTICIPATION WITH COMMUNITY AND NATIVE HAWAIIAN CULTURAL PRACTICES.
