THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE AND PURPOSE OF NEW PERSPECTIVES CENTER FOR COUNSELING IS TO PROVIDE CHARITABLE ASSISTANCE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC BY OFFERING LOW FEE PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING AIMED PRIMARILY AT LOW-INCOME GROUPS; TO PROVIDE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS IN CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY OR RELATED FIELDS TO PERFORM THE SUPERVISED HOURS OF PSYCHOTHERAPY REQUIRED FOR STATE LICENSURE AS MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPISTS; TO PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR CLINICAL RESEARCH.NPCC ACHIEVED THE FOLLOWING IN CARRYING OUT THE ORGANIZATION'S EXEMPT PURPOSE:OVER THE 12-MONTH PERIOD, A TOTAL OF 20 POST-GRADUATE STUDENTS PERFORMED SUPERVISED HOURS OF PSYCHOTHERAPY FOR APPROXIMATELY 300 LOW-INCOME CLIENTS AT FEES RANGING FROM $40-$130 PER CLIENT SESSION.
A SECONDARY PURPOSE OF NPCC, WHICH IS INTERGRAL TO THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANIZATION AS A COUNSELING CENTER, IS TO PROVIDE A ONE YEAR POST-GRADUATE TRAINING PROGRAM FOR MARRIAGE & FAMILY THERAPIST INTERNS. INTERNS ARE ADMITTED TO THE TRAINING PROGRAM QUARTERLY. INTERNS PAY A FEE OF $150 PER MONTH TO COVER PART OF THE COST OF THIS TRAINING PROGRAM.
