THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES GRANTS TO SCHOOLS AND TEACHERS IN THE DISTRICT TO ENHANCE THE LEARNING EXPERIENCE OF THE STUDENTS. THE GRANTS COVER EXPENSES SUCH AS ADDITIONAL READING AND MATH INSTRUCTION, CURRICULUM ENHANCEMENT AND A VARIETY OF OTHER NEEDED ITEMS. INCLUDING GRANTS FOR ART PROGRAMS. ALL STUDENTS IN THE DISTRICT BENEFIT FROM THE GRANTS. THE DISTRICT CURRENTLY HAS ROUGHLY 12,500 STUDENTS.
SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SENIORS OF TIGARD AND TUALATIN HIGH SCHOOLS. SCHOLARSHIPS RANGE FROM $500 - $2,500 PER STUDENT. THE STUDENTS MUST APPLY AND THE SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AWARDED BASED ON ACADEMICS AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS. 5 SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED.
DURING THE PANDEMIC, THE FOUNDATION STARTED A FOOD DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM 'PACKED WITH PRIDE' TO PROVIDE FOOD BOXES TO FAMILIES IN THE DISTRICT. THE PROGRAM DISTRIBUTES FOOD BOXES WEEKLY TO FAMILIES IN THE DISTRICT IMPACTED BY THE GLOBAL COVID -19 PANDEMIC & ONGOING ECONOMIC STRUGGLES. ROUGHLY 850 BOXES PER WEEK ARE DISTRIBUTED. EACH BOX SERVES A FAMILY OF FIVE FOR A WEEK. ROUGHLY 500 BOXES ARE DISTRIBUTED WEEKLY. TOTAL BOXES DISTRIBUTED IN 2021 WAS 21,560.
