DEVELOPMENT OF NEW SUSTAINABLE HOUSING - MUTUAL HOUSING DEVELOPS NEW HOUSING FOR SACRAMENTO AND YOLO COUNTIES' DIVERSE HOUSEHOLDS. MUTUAL HOUSING ALSO ACQUIRES AND RENOVATES DETERIORATED MULTI-FAMILY HOUSING PROPERTIES THAT HAVE BECOME UNSAFE FOR RESIDENTS AND A BLIGHT ON THE NEIGHBORHOODS IN WHICH THEY ARE LOCATED. APPROXIMATELY 3,300 RESIDENTS LIVE IN 1,148 TOWNHOMES, APARTMENTS, AND A MOBILE HOME PARK LOCATED IN SACRAMENTO AND YOLO COUNTIES THAT ARE OPERATED BY MUTUAL HOUSING MANAGEMENT.
COMMUNITY BUILDING, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND RESIDENT SERVICES - MUTUAL HOUSING CALIFORNIA EMPLOYS A MULTI-LINGUAL, MULTI-CULTURAL TEAM OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT STAFF TO ENGAGE RESIDENTS IN THEIR COMMUNITIES, INVOLVE THEM IN CIVIC LIFE AND TO BRING PROGRAMS TO THE PROPERTIES WHICH MEET RESIDENTS' INTERESTS AND NEEDS.THROUGH INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP CONVERSATIONS, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT STAFF DISCOVER THE UNIQUE TALENTS, GOALS AND CHALLENGES OF INDIVIDUAL RESIDENTS.
