THE FRATERNITY OF THE DESERT BIGHORN IS DEDICATED TO THE UTILIZATION, CONSERVATION AND WELFARE OF THE DESERT BIGHORN SHEEP. THE FRATERNITY WORKS WITH VARIOUS GOVERNMENT AGENCIES AND OTHER NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS THAT ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF THE DESERT BIGHORN SHEEP.

THE FRATERNITY OF THE DESERT BIGHORN IS A 100% VOLUNTEER NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION BASED IN LAS VEGAS, NV, WITH MEMBERS "UNSELFISHLY DEDICATED TO THE WELFARE AND CONSERVATION OF DESERT BIGHORN AND NEVADA'S WILDLIFE." THE ORGANIZATION WAS FOUNDED IN 1964 BY A HANDFUL OF CONCERNED ADVOCATES AND CONSERVATIONISTS WHEN THE DESERT BIGHORN SHEEP POPULATION IN NEVADA WAS AT A HISTORIC LOW OF LESS THAN 2,000 ANIMALS. THE FRATERNITY OF THE DESERT BIGHORN HAS WORKED OVER THE LAST FIVE DECADES IN UNISON WITH NDOW AND OTHER LIKE-MINDED CONSERVATION GROUPS TO RECOVER BIGHORN SHEEP POPULATIONS IN SOUTHERN NEVADA NOW NEARING 12,000 ANIMALS. THE FRATERNITY OF THE DESERT BIGHORN HAD ITS YEARLY BANQUET AT SOUTHPOINT CASINO ON MAY 18, 2019 WHERE OVER 150,000 WAS RAISED. DURING THE YEAR WE CONDUCTED FLIGHT INSPECTIONS OF WATER DEVELOPMENTS THROUGHOUT AND STATE OF NEVADA AND AT EACH INSPECTION SITE ASSISTED THE NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE WITH INSTALLATION OF SIGNS. THE FRATERNITY HAS MONTHLY MEETINGS AT HOME PLATE GRILL AND BAR TO PLAN WATER DEVELOPMENT AND OTHER PROJECTS TO HELP THE WELFARE AND COSERVATION OF THE DESERT BIGHORN AND OTHER WILDLIFE IN NEVADA.
