THE MISSION OF CHICANA LATINA FOUNDATION IS THE EMPOWERMENT OF CHICANAS/LATINAS BY SUPPORTING THEIR PERSONAL, PROFESSIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL ADVANCEMENT.

LEADERSHIP & WORKSHOP PROGRAMS- CHICANA LATINA FOUNDATION (CLF) IS PROUD TO HAVE COMPLETED THE 12TH YEAR OF THE LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE FOR PAST AND CURRENT SCHOLARSHIP AWARDEES. THE SESSIONS INCLUDE JOB READINIESS, PLANNING, PUBLIC SPEAKING, INTERVIEWING, NETWORKING, FINANCIAL LITERACY, AND LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT SKILLS. CLF HAS BEEN CONDUCTING SKILL-BUILDING WORKSHOPS, WHICH PREPARE HUNDREDS OF STUDENTS EACH YEAR TO APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS, TO WRITE THEIR ESSAYS AND LEARN HOW TO INTERVIEW. THESE WORKSHOPS ARE PRESENTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH VARIOUS COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES THROUGHOUT THE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AREA. SINCE 2003, CLF HAS REACHED NEARLY 3,000 STUDENTS WHO HAVE LEARNED HOW TO APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS, HOW TO INTERVIEW AND HOW TO ACCESS RESOURCES ON CAMPUS.
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM - STARTING BETWEEN 1980 & 1990, WITH A HANDFUL OF SCHOLARSHIPS OF $200 EACH, CLF NOW HAS A VERY SUCCESSFUL AND WELL-RUN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM. CLF AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS OF $1,500 EACH TO TALENTED, WELL-DESERVING LATINA COLLEGE STUDENTS. SINCE ITS INCEPTION, CLF HAS AWARDED NEARLY $1 MILLION TO OVER 600 STUDENTS.
