PRIME HOUSING, INC., DBA PONDEROSA PLAZA APARTMENTS (THE PROJECT) WAS ORGANIZED IN MAY OF 1985 BY PRIME HOUSING. INC., A NON-PROFIT CORPORATION INCORPORATED IN THE STATE OF ARIZONA. THE PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT WAS TO RENOVATE AND OPERATE A 14-UNIT MULTIFAMILY HOUSING COMPLEX IN FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA. THE PROJECT WAS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE HOUSING FOR THE CHRONICALLY MENTALLY ILL, USING FUNDS GRANTED BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HUD UNDER SECTIONS 8 AND 202 OF THE NATIONAL HOUSING ACT.FOR THE PROGRAM YEAR 2020-21 THE PROJECT REMAINED FULL, HOUSING 12 SUBSIDIZED OCCUPANTS; 6 MALES AND 6 FEMALES, AND TWO MALE OCCUPANTS IN THE TWO CONVENTIONAL UNITS. THIS PROJECT SERVED HOMELESS CLIENTS WHO WERE ALSO CHRONICALLY MENTALLY ILL. ONE OF THE KEY SERVICES WAS TO IMPROVE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES FOR THE PEOPLE LIVING IN THIS PROJECT. THE GUIDANCE CENTER INC. ALSO HELPS PROVIDE MENTAL AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES FOR THE RESIDENTS LIVING IN PONDEROSA PLAZA APARTMENTS.
