THE CALIFORNIA HOMEBUILDING FOUNDATION'S SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO ENCOURAGE AND SUPPORT UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE STUDENTS WHO EXCEL IN THEIR BUILDING INDUSTRY-RELATED PROGRAM, DEMONSTRATE A STRONG WILL TO SUCCEED, AND ARE IN NEED OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. GRANTED SCHOLARSHIPS TO 110 STUDENTS AND MADE GRANTS TO 3 COLLEGES.
DONALD CHAIKEN BUILDING INDUSTRY TECHNOLOGY ACADEMY (BITA) BITA IS A PROGRAM OF THE CALIFORNIA HOMEBUILDING FOUNDATION. BITAS A 4-YEAR HIGH SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION TRAINING PROGRAM CURRENTLY RUNS IN MORE THAN 40 HIGH SCHOOLS IN CALIFORNIA WITH 3 5 NEW SCHOOLS ON TARGET TO IMPLEMENT THE PROGRAM NEXT YEAR.BITAS MISSION IS TO PROVIDE A TRAINED WORKFORCE TO MEET INDUSTRY DEMAND, OFFSET WORKER RETIREMENT, AND AVOID LABOR SHORTAGES. CIRB IS A RESEARCH CENTER ESTABLISHED IN 1954 TO PROVIDE STATISTICAL INFORMATION ON THE CALIFORNIA BUILDING AND CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY.
