THE EAST BAY LEADERSHIP COUNCIL SPONSORS A 3-PART SERIES WITH INFORMATIVE SPEAKERS AND PANEL DISCUSSIONS HIGHLIGHTING LEADERS AT THE NATIONAL, STATE AND LOCAL LEVEL FOCUSED ON ADVANCING CRITICAL COMMUNITY CONVERSATIONS ON A WIDE RANGE OF ISSUES. THE SERIES IS THE LARGEST SOURCE OF REVENUE FOR THE EBLC AND SUPPORTS ITS MISSION TO ADVOCATE FOR POLICIES THAT INCREASE ECONOMIC VITALITY AND IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN THE EAST BAY.
THE COUNCIL'S SECOND LARGEST PROGRAM IS THREADS OF HOPE. THIS EVENT HONORS THE VOLUNTEERISM AND PHILANTHROPY THAT MAKE THE REGION A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE AND WORK. BY HONORING THOSE WHO SHARE THEIR TIME, TALENT, AND TREASURE, THE COUNCIL HOPES TO FOSTER A CONTINUED SPIRIT OF GIVING IN THE EAST BAY. THIS BUILT ON THE SUCCESS OF THE EAST BAY PHILANTHROPY AWARDS BY JOINING FORCES WITH DIABLO MAGAZINE TO HELP BETTER TELL THE STORIES OF OUR HONOREES. NOMINATIONS CAN BE SUBMITTED BY ANY INDIVIDUAL OR ORGANIZATION, WITH HONOREES CHOSEN IN AUGUST AND AN EVENT HELD IN DECEMBER.
THE EAST BAY LEADERSHIP COUNCIL HOSTS AN ANNUAL INSTALLATION AWARDS WHICH ALLOWS OUR LARGE BOARD OF DIRECTORS, CONSISTING OF MORE THAN 60 REGIONAL LEADERS FROM ACROSS SECTORS OF THE EAST BAY'S ECONOMY, TO CELEBRATE THE WAYS IN WHICH EBLC HAS FURTHERED ITS MISSION TO IMPROVE ECONOMIC VITALITY AND QUALITY OF LIFE. BOTH THE OUTGOING CHAIR AND INCOMING CHAIR OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS SPEAK ABOUT THEIR PLANS FOR THE YEAR WHILE WE RECOGNIZE THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF DISTINGUISHED LEADERS IN THE ORGANIZATION. WE ALSO AWARD THE EAST BAY LEADERSHIP MEDAL, THE HIGHEST HONOR BESTOWED BY EBLC, TO A MEMBER COMPANY THAT MAKES OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE ORGANIZATION AND TO THE REGION. THIS EVENT ALSO ACTS AS AN ESSENTIAL OPPORTUNITY TO WELCOME NEW MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS WHILE THANKING THOSE DIRECTORS WHO HAVE RETIRED. EBLC ALSO RECOGNIZES DISTINGUISHED SERVICE BY ONE OR MORE INDIVIDUALS. FINALLY, THE PROGRAM REGULARLY ATTRACTS LOCAL, REGIONAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL ELECTED OFFICIALS INTERESTED IN OUR WORK.
