THE EAST BAY LEADERSHIP COUNCIL SPONSORS A 3-PART SERIES WITH INFORMATIVE SPEAKERS AND PANEL DISCUSSIONS ON TOPICAL ISSUES RELATED TO ECONOMIC VITALITY AND QUALITY OF LIFE OF THE REGION. THE SERIES IS THE LARGEST SOURCE OF REVENUE FOR THE EBLC AND SUPPORTS ITS MISSION TO ADVOCATE FOR POLICIES THAT INCREASE ECONOMIC VITALITY AND IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE IN THE EAST BAY.
THE EAST BAY LEADERSHIP COUNCIL HOSTS AN ANNUAL INSTALLATION AWARDS EVENT WHICH ALLOWS OUR LARGE BOARD OF DIRECTORS, CONSISTING OF 70 REGIONAL LEADERS FROM ACROSS SECTORS OF THE EAST BAY'S ECONOMY, TO CELEBRATE THE WAYS IN WHICH EBLC HAS FURTHERED ITS MISSION TO IMPROVE ECONOMIC VITALITY AND QUALITY OF LIFE. BOTH THE CHAIR AND THE CHAIR-ELECT OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS SPEAK ABOUT THEIR PLANS FOR THE YEAR, WHILE WE RECOGNIZE OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP OF ONE OF OUR TASK FORCES. WE ALSO AWARD THE EAST BAY MEDAL, THE HIGHEST HONOR BESTOWED BY EBLC, TO A MEMBER COMPANY WHO MAKES OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE ORGANIZATION AND TO THE REGION. THIS EVENT ALSO ACTS AS AN IMPORTANT OPPORTUNITY TO WELCOME NEW MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS WHILE THANKING THOSE DIRECTORS WHO HAVE RETIRED. EBLC ALSO RECOGNIZES DISTINGUISHED SERVICE BY ONE OR MORE INDIVIDUALS. FINALLY, THE PROGRAM REGULARLY ATTRACTS LOCAL, REGIONAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL ELECTED OFFICIALS INTERESTED IN OUR WORK.
THE COUNCIL'S THIRD LARGEST PROGRAM ARE THE PUBLIC FORUMS WE HOST WITH ELECTED OFFICIALS AND CANDIDATES FOR OFFICE THROUGH OUR SACRAMENTO SERIES. THESE EVENTS PROVIDE A FORUM TO MEET WITH MEMBERS OF THE STATE LEGISLATURE AND CANDIDATES FOR OTHER LOCAL OFFICES IN THE EAST BAY TO DISCUSS CURRENT ISSUES AND POSE QUESTIONS REGARDING IMPORTANT POLICY ISSUES. EBLC MEMBERS VALUE THE CONNECTIONS THEY MAKE WITH THE ELECTED OFFICIALS AND CANDIDATES THROUGH EBLC'S SACRAMENTO SERIES PROGRAMS.
