TO PROVIDE PERPETUAL MEMORY OF THE OLD WEST AND THE PIONEERS WHO BROUGHT CVILIZATION TO OREGON AND UMATILLA COUNTY. TO PRESERVE FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS THE MEMORY OF THE MANNER OF LIFE, PLEASURES, AND HARDSHIPS OF THE EMIGRANTS ON THE OREGON TRAIL; TO PRESERVE THE CUSTOMS AND LIFE OF THE INDIAN TRIBES WHO OCCUPIED THE OREGON COUNTRY; TO PRESERVE PROTECT AND HONOR THE MEMORY OF VETERANS; TO ENCOURAGE ANNUAL COMMUNITY CELEBRATION AND ENTERTAINMENT. THE FOUNDATION ANNUALLY AWARDS SCHOLARSHIPS TO LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES TO ASSIST WITH THE COST OF SECONDARY EDUCATION AND MAKES DONATIONS TO LOCAL CHARITABLE, EDUCATIONAL AND CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS.

HAPPY CANYON FOUNDATION WILL KEEP ANNUAL OPERATING CASH ON HAND TOTALING ONE YEAR'S EXPENSES IN EITHER CASH OR CASH EQUIVALENT ACCOUNTS, OR ANOTHER AMOUNT APPROVED BY AN INVESTMENT COMMITTEE. THE FOUNDATION HAS BEEN ABLE TO INVEST FUNDS IN ORDER TO MEET ANTICIPATED NEEDS FOR CONTINUATION OF THE SHOW AND ABILITY TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR FUTURE SCHOLARS.
