UNITED WAY OF DESCHUTES COUNTY WORKS FOR THE HEALTH, EDUCATION AND FINANCIAL STABILITY OF EVERYONE IN OUR COMMUNITY BY SUPPORTING HUMAN SERVICES, 2-1-1, TAXAIDE, AND THE TRACES INITIATIVE TO BUILD RESILIENCE.

UNITED WAY OF DESCHUTES COUNTY PROVIDES DISCRETIONARY FUNDING TO 37 PARTNER AGENCIES WITH PROVEN SUCCESSFUL PROGRAMS THAT ADDRESS THE HEALTH, EDUCATION, AND FINANCIAL STABILITY NEEDS OF EVERY PERSON ON OUR COMMUNITY. COLLECTIVELY, THESE PROGRAMS REPORTED SERVICE TO MORE THAN 65,000 CENTRAL OREGONIANS IN 2020-2021. GRANT AMOUNTS TO FUNDED PARTNER AGENCIES ARE DETERMINED THROUGH A RIGOROUS VOLUNTEER-DRIVEN PROCESS THAT ALIGNS FUNDING WITH BOARD-DETERMINED PRIORITIES, AS WELL AS MONITORING AGENCIES FOR OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY AND THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THEIR PROGRAM.


UNITED WAY OF DESCHUTES COUNTY DISTRIBUTED 341,759 IN DONOR-RESTRICTED CONTRIBUTIONS TO 244 NON-PROFIT AGENCIES AS DETERMINED BY DONORS IN 2020- 2021.


UNITED WAY OF DESCHUTES COUNTY IS LEADING A COMMUNITY-WIDE INITIATIVE CALLED TRACES (TRAUMA, RESILIENCE, AND ADVERSE CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCES) WITH THE GOAL OF DRAMATICALLY IMPROVING LONG-TERM HEALTH AND WELLBEING IN CENTRAL OREGON THROUGH COLLABORATIVE SYSTEMIC CHANGE FOCUSED ON BUILDING THE RESILIENCE SKILLS NEEDED TO REDUCE THE DOCUMENTED BEHAVIORAL AND HEALTH ISSUES THAT CAN RESULT FROM EARLY CHILDHOOD TRAUMA - SUCH AS DECREASED ACADEMIC ATTAINMENT, LOST PRODUCTIVITY, DISEASE, AND EARLY DEATH. RESILIENCE - A COMBINATION OF INDIVIDUAL SKILLS, SOCIAL CONNECTEDNESS, AND COMMUNITY RESOURCES THAT DEFINES THE ABILITY TO THRIVE IN THE FACE OF ADVERSITY - CAN BE CULTIVATED AND BUILDING INDIVIDUAL RESILIENCE HAS BEEN PROVEN TO OFFSET THE POSSIBLE NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF CHILDHOOD TRAUMA.
