BEACON MEDIA BEGAN ITS FORMAL EFFORTS TO INCORPORATE AND ESTABLISH ITS PROGRAMMATIC ACTIVITY IN THE FINAL MONTHS OF 2023. THE PROCESS OF STARTING UP THE ORGANIZATION HAS INVOLVED: -RECRUITING A DIVERSE AND DEDICATED BOARD OF DIRECTORS COMMITTED TO ADVANCING OUR MISSION; -BEGINNING RESEARCH ON NORTH CAROLINA'S MEDIA LANDSCAPE; -BUILDING OUT CONTENT STRUCTURE AND EDITORIAL GUIDELINES; -DEVELOPING PARTNERSHIPS WITH CONTRIBUTING ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS. BEACON MEDIA'S RESEARCH AND PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS WILL ALLOW US TO REACH OUR GOALS TO SYNDICATE NONPARTISAN CONTENT ACROSS MEDIA PLATFORMS IN BOTH ENGLISH AND SPANISH. OUR AUDIENCE WILL BE PEOPLE WHO MAKE UP THE BACKBONE OF SOME OF OUR MOST MARGINALIZED COMMUNITIES, THOSE WHO LIVE OUTSIDE OF MAJOR MEDIA MARKETS AND PARTICULARLY IN HARD-TO-REACH RURAL AREAS. BEACON'S VALUES-BASED CONTENT AND COMMENTARY WILL REACH EVERY CORNER OF THE STATE AND THE WORKING CLASS WHO HAVE THE MOST AT STAKE IN THE CURRENT STRUGGLE FOR DEMOCRACY.
