IMPACT/ATC: CONCUSSION PROGRAM/RESEARCH AND PROVISION OF NO-COST MEDICAL CARE AND SPORTS MEDICINE-RELATED EDUCATION TO CHILDREN OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN THE DESCHUTES COUNTY AREA.


TRAIN YOUR BRAIN - BICYCLE HELMETS AND SAFETY: TRAIN YOUR BRAIN OFFERS EDUCATIONAL PRESENTATIONS TO YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS IN CENTRAL OREGON, INCLUDING: ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, BOY SCOUTS, COMMUNITY EVENTS, AND ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE CLASS. THE PRESENTATIONS INCLUDE AGE-APPROPRIATE DISCUSSIONS OF BRAIN AND SPINAL CORD ANATOMY AND INJURY PREVENTION TECHNIQUES SUCH AS STREET, CAR, AND BIKE SAFETY.


OK TO PLAY: THIS PROGRAM ENSURES THAT STUDENTS IN NEED OF A COMPREHENSIVE WELL-CHILD VISIT HAVE A SPORTS PHYSICAL WITH THEIR REGULAR PRIMARY CARE PROVIDER AT THE SAME TIME AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO FAMILIES.


EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM AND OTHER: THE CENTER FOUNDATION PRESENTS OUR ANNUAL CONFERENCE FOR MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS. UNIQUELY, THIS IN-DEPTH CONFERENCE INCLUDES A CADAVERIC LAB. LED BY SKILLED ORTHOPEDIC SURGEONS FROM THE CENTER, THE CADAVER LAB IS DESIGNED TO DEMONSTRATE CURRENT SURGICAL PROCEDURES. SPECIFICALLY FOCUSING ON ANATOMY, COMMON INJURIES, AND REHABILITATION TECHNIQUES, OUR CONFERENCES PROVIDE THE MOST CURRENT INFORMATION IN ORTHOPEDICS AND SPORTS MEDICINE.
