FUNDRAISING SUPPORT: HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF OREGON PROVIDES PASS-THROUGH GRANT FUNDING AND TAILORED LOAN FUNDING TO HELP AFFILIATES EXPAND LOCAL HOME BUILDING AND REPAIR CAPACITY. DURING THE PAST TWO YEARS, WE PROVIDED $598,780 IN DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE RESOURCES THAT COVER CLOSING COSTS FOR HOMEBUYERS AND REDUCE THE SUBSIDY HABITAT AFFILIATES MUST PROVIDE LOCALLY TO BUY DOWN THE MORTGAGE TO A LEVEL HABITAT FOR HUMANITY HOMEBUYERS CAN AFFORD. WE HELPED LOCAL AFFILIATES TO SUCCESSFULLY DRAW DOWN ANOTHER $330,000 FROM THE FEDERAL HOME LOAN BANK OF DES MOINES TO SUPPORT EXPANDED HOMEBUILDING EFFORTS DURING THE SAME TIMEFRAME. IN FISCAL YEAR 2022, WE DISBURSED AN ADDITIONAL $245,306 TO OREGON AFFILIATES IN GRANT AND LOAN RESOURCES. TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND TRAINING: IN FISCAL YEAR 2022, HABITAT OREGON LAUNCHED HEAL: THE HABITAT EQUITY ACADEMY FOR LEADERS. HEAL ENROLLEES INCLUDED 29 STAFF AND BOARD MEMBERS FROM OREGON AFFILIATES, PLUS TWO MEMBERS OF OUR STAFF TEAM. CO-FACILITATORS VERONICA BAUELOS AND KATHARINE QUINCE WORK DIRECTLY WITH THIS LEARNING COHORT FOR THREE HOURS EACH MONTH, EMPOWERING HABITAT LEADERS TO PROMOTE AND INCORPORATE DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION INTO OUR PRACTICES AND ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE. WE CONTINUE TO PROVIDE DIRECT SUPPORT TO OREGON AFFILIATES DURING TIMES OF KEY TRANSITION. OUR QUARTERLY NETWORKING GROUPS NOW INCLUDE PARTICIPANTS FROM A FOUR-STATE AREA IN EACH OF SIX FOCUS AREAS FOR HABITAT AFFILIATES STAFF: EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS, RESTORE MANAGERS, FAMILY SERVICES, RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT, CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY AND VOLUNTEER COORDINATION.GOVERNMENT RELATIONS AND ADVOCACY: HABITAT OREGON LEADS ADVOCACY EFFORTS AT THE STATE LEVEL AND CAREFULLY TRACKS LEGISLATIVE ISSUES THAT AFFECT THE MISSION AND OPERATIONS OF THE 24 AFFILIATES WE SERVE. SEEKING TO EXPAND OUR COMMUNITY IMPACT, WE MEET FACE-TO-FACE WITH ELECTED OFFICIALS AND STATE EMPLOYEES IN ONGOING CONVERSATIONS ABOUT AFFORDABLE HOMEOWNERSHIP NEEDS AND OPPORTUNITIES. DURING THE 2022 SESSION, OREGON LEGISLATORS PASSED ALLOCATIONS FOR LAND ACQUISITION FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING DEVELOPMENT, INVESTMENTS IN AFFORDABLE HOMEOWNERSHIP PRODUCTION, EXPANDED DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE RESOURCES, CAPACITY BUILDING SUPPORT FOR ORGANIZATIONS WHO PROMOTE AFFORDABLE HOMEOWNERSHIP, ADDITIONAL HOME REPAIR FUNDING AND WILDFIRE RECOVERY. OUR NETWORK LEANED IN TO SUPPORT THE SUCCESSFUL PASSAGE OF THE EQUITY INVESTMENT FUND, SEEDED WITH AN INITIAL $15 MILLION INVESTMENT AT BUSINESS OREGON.DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND RESPONSE: HABITAT OREGON PROMOTES AWARENESS OF THE POTENTIAL IMPACT OF DISASTERS IN AFFILIATE SERVICE AREAS, PROMOTES RISK REDUCTION, ASSISTS AFFILIATES WITH DEVELOPING A CONTINUITY OF OPERATIONS PLAN AND PARTICIPATES IN STATEWIDE RECOVERY PLANNING. THIS BODY OF WORK IS A COMBINATION OF INFORMATION SHARING AND TRAINING WITH LOCAL AFFILIATES.
