(PCI) IS A NONPROFIT ANIMAL WELFARE ORGANIZATION WHOSE MISSION IS TO FIND LIFELONG, LOVING HOMES FOR ALL PETS BY SUPPORTING PROGRAMS AND THOUGHT LEADERSHIP THAT BRING PEOPLE AND PETS TOGETHER. IN ADDITION TO FINDING HOMES FOR MORE THAN 600,000 SHELTER PETS EACH YEAR THROUGH ITS IN-STORE ADOPTION PROGRAM IN ALL PETSMART STORES ACROSS THE U.S. AND PUERTO RICO, PETSMART CHARITIES PROVIDES FUNDING TO NON-PROFITS ALIGNED WITH ITS MISSION THROUGH FOUR KEY AREAS OF GRANT SUPPORT: IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR UNDER RESOURCED PETS, BUILDING POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN PEOPLE AND PETS, PRESERVING FAMILIES IN AT RISK SCENARIOS AND INFLUENCING COMMUNITIES TO INVEST IN PETS. PCI PARTNERS WITH MORE THAN 3,500 ANIMAL WELFARE GROUPS THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES TO FACILITATE ADOPTIONS. IN 2020, OVER 400,000 PETS FOUND HOMES THROUGH THE ADOPTION PROGRAM, A DECREASE OVER NORMAL YEARS DUE TO COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS.
PRESERVING FAMILIES IN AT-RISK SCENARIOS - PETSMART CHARITIES PARTNERED WITH MORE THAN 90 HUMAN SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCIES AND ANIMAL WELFARE ORGANIZATIONS THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES TO SUPPORT PROGRAMS THAT HELP PEOPLE FACING ACUTE CRISES, SUCH AS NATURAL DISASTERS, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, HOMELESSNESS, HOSPITALIZATION OR DEPLOYMENT, TO KEEP AND STAY WITH THEIR PETS DURING TRANSITION.
