RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES OF CENTRAL OREGON OPERATES ONE CORE PROGRAM: THE BEND RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE, IN BEND, OREGON IN THE GEOGRAPHIC REGION KNOWN AS "CENTRAL OREGON." THIS RESIDENTIAL FACILITY, OPENED IN 1997, HAS 6 PRIVATE BEDROOMS WITH EN SUITE BATH AS WELL AS COMMON LAUNDRY, PLAY, LIVING, DINING, AND COOKING SPACES TO BE SHARED BY GUEST FAMILIES. QUALIFYING FAMILIES HAVE TRAVELED TO BEND SEEKING MEDICAL TREATMENT FOR THEIR CHILD, AGE ZERO THROUGH 21, AT SAINT CHARLES MEDICAL CENTER OR ANOTHER HEALTH CARE PROVIDER IN BEND, OREGON. THE PRIMARY SERVICE AREA FOR THE BEND RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE IS CENTRAL AND EASTERN OREGON. THE AVERAGE GUEST FAMILY TRAVELS 93 MILES ONE WAY TO SEEK TREATMENT FOR THEIR CHILD IN BEND. CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE ONO FAMILY IS EVER TURNED AWAY FOR AN INABILITY TO CONTRIBUTE TO THEIR STAY.
