WVSC PROMOTES SOARING AVIATION AND GLIDER FLIGHT SAFETY TO THE PUBLIC BY PROVIDING FACILITIES, FLIGHTS, AND INSTRUCTION AT THE HIGHEST STANDARDS ACHIEVABLE AT AN ECONOMICAL COST. WVSC PROVIDES INTRODUCTORY FLIGHTS TO EXPAND THE SOARING EXPERIENCE BEYOND ITS GENERAL MEMBERSHIP.

Part 3
TO PROVIDE MEMBERS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE PART IN INSTRUCTION AND ADVANCED TRAINING IN SOARING. MEMBERS TOOK PART IN 810 INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHTS, 94 ADVANCED SOARING FLIGHTS AND 93 INITIAL LESSONS. PRIMARY PURPOSE FULFILLED.
HELD GROUND SCHOOLS, CLINICS AND MEETINGS FOR THE MEMBERS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC. 12 BOARD MEETINGS WERE HELD, 1 GENERAL MEETING WITH 43 ATTENDEES WAS HELD, 1 SAFETY MEETING WAS HELD WITH 68 CLUB MEMBERS PRESENT. 7 CONDOR FLIGHT SIMULATOR SESSIONS WERE CONDUCTED WITH 8 OF OUR YOUTH STUDENTS ATTENDING, AND 1 GROUP GROUND SCHOOL SESSION WITH THE 10 YOUTH LEARNING TO FLY WAS HELD AT OUR FIELD. ADDITIONALLY WE PRESENTED AT THE AVIATION SKILLS CENTER FOR VANCOUVER PUBLIC SCHOOLS WITH 25 STUDENTS PRESENT AND PARTICIPATED IN THE ALASKA AIRLINES FAMILY DAY AT PORTLAND INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WHERE 400+ WERE IN ATTENDANCE. WE ALSO ESTABLISHED A WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH THE AIR FORCE CIVIL AIR PATROL TO GIVE INSTRUCTIONAL GLIDER FLIGHTS TO CAP MEMBERS.
TO PROVIDE THE GENERAL PUBLIC WITH A CHANCE TO EXPERIENCE SOARING AND TO CONSIDER BECOMING INVOLVED. 154 GIFT CERTIFICATES WERE SOLD IN 2022 AND 324 INTRODUCTORY RIDES WERE GIVEN. WVSC CONTINUES TO SUPPORT OTHER NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS WITH DONATIONS OF GIFT CERTIFICATES TO HELP WITH THEIR FUNDRAISING EFFORTS. WVSC DONATED 42 GIFT CERTIFICATES VALUED AT $160 EACH.
SECURED THE DONATION OF A HIGH PERFORMANCE GLIDER, A HPH GLASFLUGEL 304CZ FOR USE BY ADVANCED MEMBERS. 11 MEMBER FLIGHTS OVER 13.3 HOURS WERE FLOWN.
