Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
HABITAT FOR HUMANITY INTERNATIONAL IS A CHRISTIAN ORGANIZATION AND WELCOMES VOLUNTEERS FROM ALL FAITHS WHO ARE COMMITTED TO HABITAT'S GOAL OF ELIMINATING POVERTY. HOMES ARE BUILT AND SOLD WITH NO PROFIT MADE TO HOMEOWNERS THAT MAY NOT OTHERWISE BE ABLE TO OBTAIN A HOME LOAN. HOMEOWNERS CONTRIBUTE 'SWEAT EQUITY' IN ADDITION TO MODEST HOUSE PAYMENTS WHICH ARE THEN REUSED TO BUILD ADDITIONAL HOMES.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
DURING THE 2020 TAX YEAR, CENTRAL PENINSULA HABITAT FOR HUMANITY WORKED TO SECURE A PROPERTY WHICH WAS UNFORTUNATELY TURNED BACK OVER TO THE ENTITY AFTER ITS OCCUPANT WAS UNABLE TO CONTINUE WITH THE PROGRAM. WE ALSO SELECTED A NEW PARTNER FAMILY WHO WORKED TOWARD REFURBISHING THE RECLAIMED HOUSE IN ORDER TO MEET THE PARTNER HOURS FOR THEIR BUILD. THE FINAL PROPERTY WHICH WAS BEING RENTED TO A PARTNER FAMILY UNTIL THEIR SWEAT EQUITY HOURS WERE COMPLETE, WAS SUCCESSFULLY CLOSED. A NEW BUILD WAS NOT STARTED DURING TAX YEAR 2020 DUE TO THE COST OF BUILDING MATERIALS FROM THE PANDEMIC. HOWEVER, A BUILD IS SLATED TO BEGIN ON OR ABOUT TAX YEAR 2022.
