Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3

THE ORGANIZATION USUALLY HOSTS SEVERAL EVENTS DURING EACH YEAR. UNFORTUNATELY THE ORGANIZATION COULD NOT HOLD ANY EVENTS IN 2020 DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, BUT WAS ABLE TO RUN SEVERAL EVENTS IN 2021. THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES HAVE BEEN OFFERED FOR MANY YEARS AND THE BOARD PLANS TO CONTINUE THEM: THE ORGANIZATION HOSTS AN ANNUAL SPRING SHOW AT THE SPOKANE COUNTY FAIR AND EXPO CENTER IN SPOKANE, WASHINGTON. THE SPRING SHOW IS AN AKC CONFORMATION EVENT WHICH RUNS FOR TWO DAYS, ON A SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO HOSTS AN OBEDIENCE & RALLY EVENT, WHICH RUNS FOR THREE DAYS: A FRIDAY,SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. WE ASSIST DOGS WORKING ON AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS. THERE ARE TYPICALLY OVER 1,200 ENTRIES (DOGS). TWELVE RINGS ARE UTILIZED WITH TWO STEWARDS IN CONFORMATION RINGS, AND FOUR PER RING FOR OBEDIENCE AND RALLY. WORKERS AND JUDGES ARE RECRUITED FOR THE EVENTS. KIDS FROM 4H ARE UTILIZED TO SERVE AS POOPER SCOOPERS AND VENDORS ARE INVITED TO BE ON-SITE DURING THE SHOWS. TROPHIES ARE AWARDED. IN THE FALL, THE ORGANIZATION SPONSORS "RESPONSIBLE DOG OWNERSHIP DAY" TO EDUCATE AND TRAIN PEOPLE AS BEST PRACTICES FOR HANDLING THEIR DOGS. THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THIS EVENT AND EVERYONE IS INVITED. IN ADDITION TO THESE, WE HAVE A SIX WEEK HANDLING CLASS, AND A SANCTIONED B MATCH. WE TYPICALLY USE 13 JUDGES FOR OUR EVENTS.
