THE GRANTS THAT ARE PROVIDED TO THE FELLOWSHIP IN MINIMALLY INVASIVE GYNECOLOGY (FMIGS) ARE USED TO SUPPORT FELLOWS THAT ARE ENGAGED IN A 2-YEAR FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM. THIS SURGICAL FELLOWSHIP FOLLOWS STRICT GUIDELINES TO EDUCATE PHYSICIANS IN THE ART OF MINIMALLY GYNECOLOGIC SURGERY. IN THIS PROGRAM, FELLOWS ARE EXPECTED TO PRESENT A RESEARCH PROJECT REFLECTING THEIR WORK AS A FELLOW AND THEY MUST ALSO MEET SURGICAL QUOTAS, SERVE AS JUNIOR REVIEWERS ON RESEARCH PAPERS AND SERVE AS FACULTY FOR WORKSHOPS AND POST GRADUATE COURSES. THERE ARE 44 FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMS IN THE UNITED STATES, 2 IN CANADA AND 1 IN COLOMBIA UNDER THE UMBRELLA OF THE FMIGS.
