FOUNDED IN 1997, ARTADIA IS A NONPROFIT GRANTMAKER AND NATIONWIDE COMMUNITY OF VISUAL ARTISTS, CURATORS, AND PATRONS. THE ORGANIZATION ANNUALLY IDENTIFIES ARTISTS WHOSE MERITSDEFINED AS A HIGH-LEVEL OF ARTISTIC EXCELLENCE, RIGOROUS PRACTICE, AND CLEAR ARTISTIC VOICE DEMONSTRATE THEYVE REACHED A PIVOTAL MOMENT IN THEIR PRACTICE. ARTADIA ELEVATES THE CAREERS OF THESE ARTISTS THROUGH A PROVEN COMBINATION OF RECOGNITION, GRANTMAKING, COMMUNITY SUPPORT, AND ADVOCACY. ARTADIA HAS TWO MAIN PROGRAMS:ARTADIA AWARDS:THE ARTADIA AWARD PROGRAM ENCOMPASSES SEVEN MAJOR U.S. CITIES: ATLANTA, BOSTON, CHICAGO, HOUSTON, LOS ANGELES, NEW YORK CITY, AND THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA. THE AWARDS PROGRAM IDENTIFIES CULTURALLY UNDERREPRESENTED ARTISTS THROUGH A COMPETITIVE PROCESS THAT CONVENES A ROTATING COMMITTEE OF CURATORS AS JURORS, AND ANNUALLY SUPPORTS AT LEAST 22 VISUAL ARTISTS WITH $15,000 EACH IN UNRESTRICTED FUNDS.
