WASHINGTON WOMEN'S FOUNDATION IS A COLLECTIVE OF WOMEN MAKING GRANTS TO NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS IN WA STATE.

IN 2023, $510,000 IN REST AND REPAIR AWARDS WERE MADE IN RECOGNITION OF BLACK WOMEN LEADERS WORKING IN WASHINGTON STATE'S NONPROFIT SECTOR.
FOUNDATION MEMBERS PARTICIPATE IN A BROAD SPECTRUM OF LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES, SUCH AS LEADERSHIP FORUMS, PHILANTHROPY SKILL-BUILDING WORKSHOPS, ISSUES DISCUSSIONS, AND "HANDS-ON" GRANT MAKING THROUGH COMMITTEE WORK. THE FOUNDATION HAD OVER 110 ACTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS AND HOSTED 52 EDUCATIONAL EVENTS IN 2023.
COLLECTIVE GRANT MAKING: IN 2023 THE FOUNDATION GRANTED A TOTAL OF $454,500 IN COLLECTIVE GRANT FUNDS TO NONPROFITS EVALUATED THROUGH A MEMBER COMMITTEE REVIEW PROCESS AND SELECTED BY MEMBERSHIP VOTE. ALL GRANTS WERE TO WASHINGTON STATE NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. ROUGHLY 80 MEMBERS VOLUNTEERED THEIR TIME AND FINANCIAL RESOURCES TO THE COLLECTIVE GRANTMAKING PROCESS. MANY MEMBERS PARTICIPATED DIRECTLY IN A REVIEW PROCESS WITH GRANTEES WHILE STUDYING THE JUSTICE AND EQUITY ISSUES THAT THE GRANTEE ORGANIZATIONS ADDRESS. THE FULL MEMBERSHIP VOTED TO SELECT THE FINAL GRANT RECIPIENTS.
