PREVENTION: NOT ABANDONED PARTNERS WITH IN-COUNTRY MEDIA EXPERTS TO DEVELOP RELEVANT MESSAGES TO PRESENT TO VILLAGES, PARENTS AND FAMILIES OF VICTIMS TO STEM THE FLOW OF YOUNG WOMEN AND CHILDREN FROM RURAL AREAS INTO THE CITIES WHERE VICTIMS ARE TRAFFICKED. INTERVENTION: NATIONAL AND AMERICAN VOLUNTEER TEAMS WORK IN-COUNTRY TO INFILTRATE TRAFFICKED ESTABLISHMENTS TO GAIN THE CONFIDENCE OF VICTIMS. VICTIMS ARE ENCOURAGED TO RETURN TO THEIR HOMES IN RURAL VILLAGES IF POSSIBLE. THESE RETURNS ARE FINANCIALLY FACILITATED BY NOT ABANDONED. WHEN VICTIMS CANNOT RETURN TO THEIR HOMES, TRANSITION TO A SAFE HOME IS FACILITATED.TRANSITION: SAFE-HARBOR, TRANSITION HOMES ESTABLISHED IN HEAVILY TRAFFICKED CITIES ARE SECURE HOMES OPERATED BY THE LOCAL, IN-COUNTRY NATIONAL TEAM. HOUSE MOMS, COUNSELORS AND LOCAL FACILITATORS GUIDE VICTIMS AS THEY WORK TO SEPARATE FROM TRADE BOSSES, WORKPLACES AND OTHER EXTERNAL AND EXPLOITIVE PRESSURES. BUSINESS AND PERSONAL GROWTH: TRAFFICKED VICTIMS ARE IMMERSED IN BUSINESS AND SOCIAL SKILLS TRAINING IN ORDER TO BECOME GAINFULLY AND LEGITIMATELY EMPLOYED. JOB PLACEMENT AND SKILLS TRAINING ARE SIGNIFICANT COMPONENTS. SOME RECEIVE TRAINING IN BUSINESS PLAN WRITING TO SECURE MICRO-FINANCING LOANS. IN ADDITION, PERSONAL AND GROUP COUNSELING IS PROVIDED TO HELP VICTIMS MANAGE PTSD AND OTHER EMOTIONAL TRAUMA RESULTING FROM THEIR EXPLOITATION. THROUGH THE FREEDOM CENTERS IN THAILAND AND SPAIN AND THE ABILITY CENTER WITHIN MOROCCO, THE NOT ABANDONED TEAM HAS WORKED WITH 1,135 STUDENTS THIS YEAR - THAT IS NOT COUNTING THE THOUSANDS MORE FAMILY MEMBERS OF THESE STUDENTS THAT ALSO RECEIVE SERVICES THROUGH OUR CENTERS. ADDITIONALLY, 1,480 CHILDREN WITH A DISABILITY RECEIVED MEDICAL TREATMENT AND OTHER 2,100 PEOPLE AFFECTED BY THE EARTHQUAKE IN MOROCCO RECEIVED EMERGENCY CARE RESOURCES.
