ESTABLISHED IN 1978 TAHOMA BEARS JUNIOR FOOTBALL AND CHEER IS ONE OF 12 CLUBS OPERATING INDEPENDENTLY WITHIN THE NISQUALLY JUNIOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE. TBJFC IS RESONSIBLE FOR IT'S OWN REGISTRATION, FUNDRAISING, EQUIPMENT OUTFITTING AND INTERNAL ADMINISTRATION AND SCHEDULING ALL CONSISTENT WITH THE NJFL RULES. OUR MISSION: TO INSPIRE YOUTH, REGARDLESS OF RACE, COLOR OR CREED TO PARTICIPATE IN A VIGOROUS AND ENTERTAINING ACTIVITY. TO BRING YOUTH CLOSER TOGETHER THROUGH THE MEANS OF A COMMON INTERST IN COMPETITIVE TEAMWORK, FAIR PLAY AND FELLOWHSHIP. TO ACQUAINT CHEERLEADERS WITH THE FUNDAMENTALS IN ORGANIZED CHEERING AND DANCE ROTUINES. TAHOMA BEARS JUNIOR FOOTBALL AND CHEER WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1978 AND IS ONE OF THE 12 CLUBS OPERATING INDEPENDENTLY WITHIN THE NARROWS YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE (NYFL). TBJFC IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ITS OWN REGISTRATION, FUND RAISING, EQUIPMENT OUTFITTING AND INTERNAL ADMINISTRATION (BOARD OF DIRECTORS) AND SCHEDULING (E.G., BOARD MEETINGS, IDENTIFICATION AND ASSIGNMENT OF PRACTICE FIELDS, ETC.) ALL CONSISTENT WITH THE NJFL RULES. ABOUT THE BEARS PROGRAM WHAT YOU AND YOUR CHILD SHOULD KNOW ABOUT PLAYING IN THE BEARS PROGRAM: WE ARE MEMBERS OF THE NYFL. ALL BEARS COACHES HAVE: HAD A MANDATORY BACKGROUND CHECK BEEN TRAINED AT CLINICS HAVE ATTENDED THE REQUIRED COACH'S CLINIC FOOTBALL COACHES HAVE PASSED THE USA FOOTBALL NATIONAL EXAM SIGNED A COACHES CODE OF CONDUCT HAVE HAD CONCUSSION TRAINING EVERY COACH IS EXPECTED TO TREAT CHILDREN FAIRLY AND TEACH THEM THE POSITIVE ATTRIBUTES THROUGH INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM GOALS. WE ARE A NON PROFIT ORGNAZIATION WHOSE SOLE PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE YOUTH FOOTBALL AND CHEER IN LOCAL AREAS FOR YOUTH BETWEEN THE AGES OF 6 AND 14. WE ARE DEDUCTED TO PROVIDING THE BEST COACHING, EQUIPMENT, AND COMPETITION FOR ALL WHO PARTICIPATE IN THIS LEAGUE. THOUGH THIS IS A COMPETITIVE LEAGUE, SAFETY AND SPORTSMANSHIP SHALL NEVER GIVE WAY TO COMPETITION.
