IN 2023, SKOOKUM CONTINUED TO LEAN INTO OUR SOCIAL MISSION TO CREATE CAREERS OF CHOICE FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. SKOOKUM EXPANDED THE CAREER ADVISOR FUNCTION TO SERVE AS A RESOURCE TO EMPLOYEES INTERESTED IN UPWARD MOBILITY WITHIN SKOOKUM, AS WELL AS FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN EXPLORING OPPORTUNITIES OUTSIDE OF SKOOKUM. AS A RESULT, SKOOKUM CELEBRATED OVER 132 INTERNAL PROMOTIONS OVER THE COURSE OF THE YEAR. SKOOKUM ADDED A NEW CUSTOMER IN 2023, THE DEFENSE HEALTH AGENCY. WE NOW PROVIDE FACILITIES MANAGEMENT SERVICES TO THE OAK HARBOR NAVAL HOSPITAL ON BOARD NAS WHIDBEY ISLAND. SKOOKUM CONTINUED TO INVEST IN THE MANUFACTURING FACILITY ACQUIRED IN 2019, ADDING NEW OEM CUSTOMERS IN THE DEFENSE INDUSTRY TO THE ARRAY OF COMMERCIAL CUSTOMERS. VETERAN EMPLOYMENT REMAINED A FOCUS IN THE MANUFACTURING FACILITY. SKOOKUM PROVIDES A WIDE ARRAY OF FACILITIES MANAGEMENT SERVICES FOR NAVY REGION NORTHWEST, AIR STATION WHIDBEY, FORT GREGG-ADAMS IN VIRGINIA, WHITE SANDS MISSILE RANGE IN NEW MEXICO, FORT RILEY IN KANSAS, CURTIS BAY SHIPYARD IN MARYLAND, THE COAST GUARD TRAINING CENTER IN YORKTOWN, VIRGINIA, THE NAVAL ACOUSTIC RESEARCH LABORATORY IN BAYVIEW, IDAHO AND THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF HEALTH IN POOLESVILLE, MD. THESE SKOOKUM PROJECTS PROVIDE HOLISTIC MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR (PUBLIC WORKS) SERVICES. THIS INCLUDES ELECTRICAL, HVAC, CARPENTRY, PLUMBING, PAINTING, GROUNDS MAINTENANCE, CUSTODIAL AND OTHER MISCELLANEOUS TRADES. SKOOKUM CONTINUES TO EXPAND THE USE OF MAXIMO, A SOPHISTICATED WORK ORDER DRIVEN COMPUTER MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE SYSTEM, BY INVESTING IN THE TECHNOLOGY TO INTEGRATE MAXIMO INTO HAND HELD MOBILE DEVICES THAT WERE PLACED IN THE HANDS OF SKOOKUM FACILITIES MAINTENANCE EMPLOYEES. SKOOKUM'S INVESTMENT IN MAXIMO INCREASED THE EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS OF THE FACILITIES MAINTENANCE BUSINESS LINE AND ALLOWED SKOOKUM TO DELIVER EVEN BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE.
SKOOKUM ENTERED THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY IN 2019, IN 2023, WE EXPANDED PRODUCT DELIVERY TO AN ADDITIONAL OEM IN THE DEFENSE INDUSTRY, WHICH PROVIDED GOOD REVENUE DIVERSIFICATION. OUR MANUFACTURING FACILITY ALSO ADDED AN ADDITIONAL LATHE, EXPANDING OUR CAPABILITY TO INCLUDE TURNING WORK. SKOOKUM ALSO INVESTED IN A NEW 4-AXIS MACHINING CENTER WITH HORIZONTAL PALLET LOADING CAPABILITY. BY THE CLOSE OF 2023, SKOOKUM MANUFACTURED PARTS FOR 6 DEFENSE AIRCRAFT IN ADDITION TO 6 COMMERCIAL AIRFRAMES.
SKOOKUM PROVIDES A VARIETY OF LOGISTICS SERVICES TO OUR CUSTOMERS. SKOOKUM OPERATES THREE CENTRAL ISSUE FACILITIES (CIFS) FOR THE U.S. ARMY, ONE AT JBLM, WA, ONE AT FORT HOOD, TX AND ANOTHER AT JBLE, VIRGINIA. THESE OPERATIONS REQUIRE SKOOKUM TO MANAGE OVER 300,000 SF OF WAREHOUSE SPACE HOUSING ORGANIZATIONAL CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT (OCIE) FOR U.S. SOLDIERS. SKOOKUM EMPLOYEES MAINTAIN INVENTORY CONTROL OF OVER $650 MILLION DOLLARS OF OCIE. ADDITIONALLY, SKOOKUM EMPLOYEES PROVIDE MATERIAL HANDLING SUPPORT FOR SHIP BOARD PROJECTS AT THE PUGET SOUND NAVAL SHIPYARD.
