RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES OF WESTERN WASHINGTON & ALASKA (RMHC) OWNS AND OPERATES THE SEATTLE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE. WITH 80 ROOMS, THE SEATTLE HOUSE PROVIDES SUPPORTIVE, TEMPORARY LODGING TO FAMILIES OF SERIOUSLY ILL CHILDREN WHO MUST LEAVE THEIR OWN COMMUNITY TO HAVE THEIR CHILDREN TREATED AT SEATTLE CHILDRENS HOSPITAL (CHILDREN'S). IN 2021, 330 FAMILIES STAYED AT THE SEATTLE HOUSE. BY PROVIDING A HOME-AWAY-FROM-HOME, RMHC HELPS KEEP FAMILIES TOGETHER DURING A VERY DIFFICULT TIME IN THEIR LIVES.
RMHC ALSO OPERATES A HOUSE IN ANCHORAGE, ALASKA, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE ALASKA NATIVE MEDICAL CENTER (ANMC). THE 34-ROOM HOUSE IS WITHIN THE PATIENT HOUSING BUILDING AND SERVES EXPECTANT MOTHERS WITH HIGH RISK PREGNANCIES AS WELL AS FAMILIES OF PEDIATRIC PATIENTS AT THE ALASKA NATIVE MEDICAL CENTER.
