COORDINATES 4 LARGE COMMUNITY EVENTS THAT EACH WELCOME HUNDREDS OF COMMUNITY MEMBERS. OUTREACH- THE WELL SERVED OVER 5,000 COMMUNITY MEMBERS THROUGH FOOD DISTRIBUTION, CLOTHING GIVEAWAYS AND OUR DROP IN CENTER. COR LIFE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM - MENTEES ATTEND A WEEKLY 2-HOUR CLASS ON IMPROVING RELATIONSHIPS, TAKING RESPONSIBILITY, HEALTH, JOB PREPAREDNESS, FINANCE, EMOTIONAL HEALTH, AND COMMUNICATION. MENTEES ALSO MEET WITH A MENTOR ON A WEEKLY BASIS TO DISCUSS LIFE PLANS AND WAYS TO ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS. WORKFORCE DEVELOPEMNT - MENTEES ARE ABLE TO APPLY FOR A WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT POSITION AT HONS HONEY, OUR SOCIAL ENTERPRISE. THIS EQUIPS THEM WITH SKILLS AND TRAINING NEEDED TO ENTER THE WORK FORCE. HONS HONEY - A SOCIAL ENTERPRISE DEDICATED TO GIVING EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES WITH SUSTAINABLE WAGES TO PARTICIPANTS IN THE WELLS CORE LIFE MENTORSHIP PROGRAM. HONS HONEY CREATES AND SELLS VARIOUS BATH AND PERSONAL PRODUCTS THAT ARE MADE AND PACKAGED BY HAND BY THE AT-RISK WOMEN OF THE CURTIS BAY AREA. ADDITIONALLY, LOCAL, RAW HONEY IS CURATED FROM LOCAL COMMUNITY HIVES AND PACKAGED AND SOLD BY HONS HONEY. THIS SOCIAL ENTERPRISE GIVES WOMEN AT RISK PURPOSE FOR THEIR LIVES AND HOPE FOR THEIR FUTURE, MAKING HONS HONEY THE MEANS FOR POSITIVE COMMUNITY CHANGE IN THE CURTIS BAY, FIRST THROUGH THE WOMEN WHO GAIN MEANINGFUL EMPLOYMENT, AND THEN FOR THE FAMILIES THAT THEY ARE NOW ABLE TO LEAD AND HELP SUPPORT. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT - COMMUNITY MEMBERS MAY TAKE CLASSES FOR FREE ON A VARIETY OF TOPICS SUCH AS FINANCES, COMPUTER LITERACY, MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL HEALTH, DRUG AWARENESS, ART AND OTHERS. WE ALSO HAVE BLOCK STYLE PARTIES AND A CHRISTMAS DINNER TO HELP ENGAGE THE COMMUNITY.
