OUR MISSION IS TO CREATE TRANSCENDENT WORKS OF BEAUTY THAT ARE OFFERED, WITHOUT RELIGIOUS DENOMINATION, AS PRAYERS FOR THE PLANET. USING AERIAL TECHNIQUES INFORMED BY CLASSICAL, INTERPRETIVE AND MODERN DANCE, BLUE LAPIS LIGHT IS COMMITTED TO CHALLENGING PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS AND INSPIRING OUR AUDIENCES WITH A SENSE OF WONDER. BLUE LAPIS LIGHT IS A SITE-SPECIFIC AERIAL DANCE COMPANY FOUNDED BY ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, SALY JACQUES, IN 2005. JACQUES' EARLIER WORKS ENCOMPASSED SOCIAL, POLITICAL, AND SPIRITUAL THEMES, AND THESE PERFORMANCES HAVE EVOLVED TO EXPLORE DANCE IN THE AIR.

TEACHING STUDIO - BY THE MIDDLE OF 2021 BLUE LAPIS LIGHT WAS BACK TO FULL STUDIO CLASSES FOLLOWING THE PANDEMIC AND ABLE TO ENGAGE OVER 500 STUDENTS. THERE WAS A STUDENT SHOWCASE PERFORMED AT THE STUDIO FOR FREE, ALLOWING TEACHERS AND STUDENT PARENTS TO ATTEND AND SEE WHAT THEIR STUDENTS HAD BEEN WORKING ON THAT YEAR.
MULTIMEDIA DANCE PERFORMANCES - BLUE LAPIS LIGHT PRESENTED EDGE OF GRACE, A SCAFFOLDING PIECE, ON THE BLL PROPERTY. HAVING TO SOCIAL DISTANCE AND PROVIDE LIMITED SEATING CAUSED A DECREASE IN THE TYPICAL AUDIENCES BLL HAS. THE SHOW HAD ABOUT 1500 PEOPLE OVER 8 SHOWS. WE WERE ALSO ENGAGED FOR MULTIPLE COMMISSIONED WORKS AT THE END OF 2021. "LIVE THE DREAM" AT 800 CONGRESS; AKIRE PRODUCTIONS AT THE HOLIDAY INN; AND AT THE MENIL MUSEUM IN HOUSTON WHICH WAS SADLY CANCELLED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER.
