THE CENTER FOR BUILDING IN NORTH AMERICA WAS FOUNDED IN 2022. WE LAUNCHED OUR WEBSITE, AND BEGUN WORK ON A REPORT, TO BE COMPLETED IN 2023 OR EARLY 2024, ON THE HIGH COST OF ELEVATORS IN NORTH AMERICA (ROUGHLY THREE TIMES THE PRICE OF THOSE IN WESTERN EUROPE, ADOPTED FOR NORTH AMERICA'S GENERALLY HIGHER COST OF LIVING). IN ADDITION, WE BEGAN WORKING WITH A LEGISLATOR IN CALIFORNIA TO INTRODUCE A BILL TO STUDY THE ISSUE OF MEANS OF EGRESS REFORM, WITHIN THE CALIFORNIA BUILDING CODE.
