RESEARCHING AND PREPARING A COMPREHENSIVE REPORT DISCUSSING UKRAINIAN MENTAL HEALTH NEEDS, EXISTING HEALTHCARE SYSTEMS, AND SUPPLEMENTAL NGO MENTAL HEALTH AND PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT SERVICES. THIS REPORT IDENTIFIES GAPS IN THE AVAILABILITY AND AFFORDABILITY OF CARE AND PROVIDES DIRECTION FOR HUT'S SHORT- AND LONG-TERM PROGRAMMING STRATEGIES.
WE IDENTIFIED AND BUILT RELATIONSHIPS WITH KEY ORGANIZATIONS, ACADEMICS, AND CLINICIANS WITH EXPERTISE IN CONFLICT-RELATED TRAUMA. WE DEEPENED PROFESSIONAL CONTACTS IN UKRAINE, WESTERN EUROPE AND THE US, ESPECIALLY AMONG PSYCHIATRISTS AND PSYCHOTHERAPISTS WHO WORK WITH OUR POPULATIONS OF INTEREST - CHILDREN AND FAMILIES EXPOSED TO TRAUMA AND VETERANS/FIRST RESPONDERS WITH PTSD.
HAVING RECOGNIZED THE MASSIVE UNMET NEED FOR MENTAL HEALTHCARE AND PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT IN UKRAINE, WE BEGAN ASSESSING THE POTENTIAL FOR DIGITAL APPROACHES TO MAXIMIZE IMPACT BY 1) EXPANDING THE REACH OF EXISTING EVIDENCE-BASED TRAUMA RECOVERY PROGRAMS, AND 2) IN PROVIDING BROADER ACCESS TO RECOVERY TECHNIQUES AND MIND-BODY TOOLS. HUT IS LEVERAGING OUR NETWORK OF TECHNOLOGY EXPERTS IN US, UK AND UKRAINE TO ADVISE US ON INTEGRATING TECHNOLOGY INTO MENTAL HEALTH SOLUTIONS.
