PATIENT SUPPORT: DURING 2022, WE PROVIDED PATIENT SUPPORT TO 5 FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN BATTLING CANCER. PATIENT SUPPORT RANGED FROM HELPING FAMILIES WITH MEDICAL EXPENSES FOR THERAPIES NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE, TRAVEL EXPENSES, TO SUPPORTING FAMILY CHRISTMAS CHEER DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME. OUR FRIEND CHRISTOPHER ALSO PROVIDED MULTIPLE CHILDREN AT THE CHILDRENS HOSPITAL OF ATLANTA DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON. AWARENESS AND RESEARCH: A LARGE PART OF INSPIRING THE LIVES OF PEDIATRIC CANCER PATIENTS IS RAISING BRAIN CANCER AWARENESS AND FUNDING RESEARCH. IN 2022, OUR FRIEND CHRISTOPHER HEADED TO WASHINGTON DC TO RAISE AWARENESS AND ADVOCATE FOR THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO MAKE STRATEGIC INVESTMENTS IN BRAIN TUMOR RESEARCH, POLICY AND CRITICAL ISSUES AFFECTING THE BRAIN TUMOR COMMUNITY. OUR FRIEND CHRISTOPHER ALSO SUPPORTS ORGANIZATIONS THAT WORK TO ELIMINATE THE CHALLENGES OF BRAIN CANCER BY SUPPORTING GLIOBLASTOMA AND MEDULLOBLASTOMA CUTTING EDGE THERAPIES. BRAIN CANCER IS THE NUMBER ONE CAUSE OF CANCER RELATED DEATHS IN CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 19. THERE IS NO CURE FOR A MALIGNANT BRAIN TUMOR. THE PROGNOSIS AND STANDARD OF CARE HAVE BEEN UNCHANGED FOR THE LAST 50 YEARS.OUR GOAL IS TO SUPPORT RESEARCH THAT WILL IMPROVE THE QUALITY AND QUANTITY OF LIFE. SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: OUR FRIEND CHRISTOPHER PROVIDES A MINIMUM OF TWO COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS A YEAR TO DESERVING YOUNG ADULTS IN OUR COMMUNITY TO HONOR OUR FRIEND CHRISTOPHER MILES WHO FINISHED HIS BATTLE WITH GLIOBLASTOMA BRAIN CANCER IN 2020. AS A HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT, CHRISTOPHER MILES HAD A HUGE IMPACT ON OUR COMMUNITY. WE CONTINUE TO HONOR HIS MEMORY BY SUPPORTING OUR LOCAL HIGH SCHOOLS WITH THIS SCHOLARSHIP. OUR FRIEND CHRISTOPHER HAS AWARDED 8 COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS SINCE THE PASSING OF CHRISTOPHER IN 2020.
