UCCD SERVES AS A NONPROFIT-SECTOR PARTNER WITH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE'S PROFESSIONAL AND CULTURAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMS, MOST NOTABLY THE INTERNATIONAL VISITOR LEADERSHIP PROGRAM. UCCD ARRANGES THESE PROFESSIONAL AND CULTURAL PROGRAMS FOR EMERGING LEADERS WHO VISIT THE U.S. AS GUESTS OF OUR GOVERNMENT. UCCD IS GUIDED BY THE CONCEPT OF "CITIZEN DIPLOMACY" - THE IDEA THAT AS CITIZENS WE HAVE THE RIGHT, EVEN THE RESPONSIBILITY, TO HELP SHAPE U.S. FOREIGN RELATIONS "ONE HAND-SHAKE AT A TIME.

INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMS UCCD HOSTS INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMS, ADMINISTERED BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE, BUREAU OF EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL AFFAIRS. THESE EXCHANGE PROGRAMS ARE OUR NATION'S MOST IMPORTANT AND RESPECTED PUBLIC DIPLOMACY INITIATIVES. EMERGING LEADERS ARE INVITED BY THE U.S. GOVERNMENT TO TRAVEL TO UTAH AND OTHER STATES TO MEET WITH PROFESSIONALS, BUSINESSES, GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, AND ORGANIZATIONS PERFORMING SIMILAR OR COMPLEMENTARY WORK TO THE WORK BEING PERFORMED IN THEIR COUNTRIES, AS WELL AS, THEY EXPERIENCE AMERICAN LIFE THROUGH CULTURAL ACTIVITIES. ALUMNI OF THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDE OVER 60 ACTING HEADS OF STATE. UTAH COUNCIL FOR CITIZEN DIPLOMACY IS ONE OF 86 NONPARTISAN, NON-PROFITS AUTHORIZED TO ADMINISTERED THIS PROGRAM NATIONALLY, AND IS THE ONLY ORGANIZATION DOING SUCH WORK IN UTAH.
AMBASSADOR JOHN PRICE & MARCIA PRICE WORLD AFFAIRS LECTURE SERIES UCCD HOSTS THE AMBASSADOR JOHN PRICE & MARCIA PRICE WORLD AFFAIRS LECTURE SERIES. THIS PROGRAM INVITES LEADING GLOBAL EXPERTS TO PROVIDE EDUCATION AND INSIGHT ON CRITICAL GLOBAL ISSUES, HELPING SHAPE PUBLIC DISCOURSE. THROUGH MORE THAN 20 LECTURES, CONVERSATIONS, AND DISCUSSION EVENTS, THE PUBLIC EXPLORES IDEAS THAT SHAPE OUR GLOBAL FUTURE, TRANSCENDING BORDERSAND TRANSFORMING HOW PEOPLE ENGAGE THE WORLD.
YOUNG DIPLOMATS OF UTAH OUR YOUNG DIPLOMATS OF UTAH PROGRAM IMMERSES YOUTH, AGE 14 - 32, IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS IN PREPARATION FOR BECOMING UTAH'S FUTURE LEADERS. HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH PARTICIPATE IN ACTIVITIES THAT FOSTER THEIR LEADERSHIP SKILLS THROUGH CIVIC PREPARATION, ENGAGEMENT WITH THE MANY CULTURES IN UTAH, AND LEARNING ABOUT THE ROLE UTAH PLAYS IN THE WORLD. COLLEGE-AGE YOUTH CAN TRAVEL TO GLOBAL EVENTS TO DEVELOP THEIR LEADERSHIP SKILLS AROUND THE SUSTAINABILITY ISSUES THAT MATTER MOST TO THEM. OUR FELLOWSHIP AND INTERNSHIP PROGRAM FOSTERS EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS AND CONNECTS CAREER-READY YOUTH WITH INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS CAREER OPPORTUNITIES.
