Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

THE PURPOSE OF ALL IN FOSTERING FUTURES (AIFF) SHALL BE TO FOCUS ON CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES WHO HAVE BEEN INVOLVED WITH THE CHILD WELFARE SYSTEM WITH A GOAL TO PREVENT NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES. OUR PRIORITY IS TO POSITIVELY IMPACT SERVICES AND CARE TO STRENGTHEN FAMILIES AND ENHANCE AND PROMOTE SAFE INDEPENDENCE AFTER LEAVING THE FOSTER CARE SYSTEM WITHOUT A PERMANENCY PLAN. AIFF WILL TAKE AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH FOR RELENTLESS SUPPORT TO BRING CHURCH, COMMUNITY AND GOVERNMENT TOGETHER TO FOCUS ON THOSE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE CHILD WELFARE SYSTEM PREVENTING POSSIBLE LONG TERM CONSEQUENCES OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING, INCARCERATION, HOMELESSNESS, UNEMPLOYMENT, POVERTY, UNWED MOTHERS, CHILD ABUSE AND CONTINUED MENTAL HEALTH CONCERNS. THERE ARE 20,000 YOUNG MEN OR WOMEN WHO LEAVE FOSTER CARE ANNUALLY WITH NO SYSTEM OR FAMILY, LEGAL GUARDIAN OR PERMANENT MENTOR TO HELP THEM GROW UP TO BE THRIVING, HEALTHY ADULTS.

1.MENS CAMPS: THE YOUNG MEN LEAVING FOSTER CARE ARE ASKING FOR INFORMATION ON HOW TO BE A GOOD MAN, ONE WHO ISNT IN A GANG, PARTICIPATING IN VIOLENCE, OR DROPPING OUT OF SCHOOL. DATA INDICATES THERE IS A CRISIS FOR BOYS. SCHOOL SHOOTINGS, SUICIDES, MALE POPULATION INCREASE IN THE PRISON SYSTEM, HEALTH CONCERNS, EDUCATION CONCERNS AND UNEMPLOYMENT HAVE ALL MOVED INTO NEGATIVE NUMBERS FOR OUR BOYS. THESE CAMPS WILL PROVIDE THE COMRADERY, THE SKILLS AND THE SUPPORTS TO BE GOOD MEN AND FATHERS AND TO BREAK THE CYCLES WE ARE SEEING IN OUR CULTURE TODAY. 2.WOMENS CAMPS: GIRLS WHO HAVE BEEN ABUSED IN THEIR OWN FAMILY OR BY OTHERS HAVE OFTEN LOST A SENSE OF VALUE, SELF-ESTEEM, DIGNITY AND PERSONAL SELF-RESPECT. SIMILAR TO THE MENS CAMPS, THE WOMEN WILL WORK WITH STRONG ROLE MODELS TO OBTAIN TRAINING, GUIDANCE AND CONFIDENCE IN WHO THEY ARE AS INDIVIDUALS. THESE CAMPS WILL ASSIST IN BREAKING THE CYCLES OF ABUSE AND NEGLECT WHILE PARENTING AND CHANGE THE CULTURE FOR ABUSED WOMEN. 3.RETREATS TO IDENTIFY WITH CHOSEN FAMILY: OUR FIRST ANNUAL RETREAT IN AUGUST 2021 BUILT A FOUNDATION WITH YOUNG ADULTS WHO LEFT THE SYSTEM. FROM THIS FIRST RETREAT BOTH YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN IDENTIFIED WITH MENTORS, RECEIVED JOB AND EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE, HELPED EACH OTHER THROUGH DIFFICULT SITUATIONS AND ADDRESSED TRAUMA. THE POWER OF THESE RETREATS ENABLES THESE YOUNG ADULTS TO HAVE A CONNECTION NOT ONLY TO SIGNIFICANT ROLE MODELS BUT ALSO TO EACH OTHER AS CHOSEN FAMILY MOVING INTO THE FUTURE. FOR INSTANCE, THE YOUNG ADULTS AT THE FIRST RETREAT OPTED TO GET TOGETHER TO CELEBRATE THANKSGIVING DAY. THIS IS SOMETHING EACH OF THEM HAD AVOIDED IN THE PAST BECAUSE OF THE PAIN OF NOT HAVING FAMILY. NOW, THERE IS VALUE TO GETTING TOGETHER FOR HOLIDAYS. 4.EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE AND TRAINING: EMPLOYERS ARE AGREEING TO WORK WITH YOUNG ADULTS WHO HAVE BEEN IN THE FOSTER CARE SYSTEM TO TRAIN, CERTIFY AND PROVIDE LIVABLE WAGE EMPLOYMENT THUS PREVENTING THE STATISTIC OF HOMELESSNESS AND OTHER ISSUES. SCHOLARSHIPS WILL BE PROVIDED FOR CERTIFICATIONS AND MENTORS WILL STAND BY THESE YOUNG PEOPLE TO ENCOURAGE COMPLETION AND TRAINING IN BASIC JOB SKILLS. 5.PUBLIC AWARENESS THROUGH SPEECHES, ZOOM PANELS AND OTHER MARKETING.
