THE CENTER PROVIDES EARLY INTERVENTION SERVICES FOR ELIGIBLE CHILDREN AGES NEWBORN TO THIRTY SIX MONTHS. THE DEVELOPMENTAL MODEL IS BASED ON ADAPTIVE, GROSS MOTOR, FINE MOTOR, LANGUAGE, PSYCHO-SOCIAL, AND SELF-HELP SKILLS. THE CENTER PROVIDES EARLY HEAD START SERVICES TO LOW-INCOME PREGNANT WOMEN AND FAMILIES WITH INFANTS AND TODDLERS, CREATING THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENHANCE THE CHILDRENS' PHYSICAL, SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL, AND COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT AND TO ENABLE PARENTS TO BE BETTER CAREGIVERS AND TEACHERS TO THEIR CHILDREN AS WELL AS HELPING PARENTS MEET THEIR OWN GOALS, INCLUDING THAT OF ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE.
