THE MISSION OF THE UTAH ASSISTED LIVING ASSOCIATION ("UALA") IS TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE AND DIGNITY OF OLDER ADULTS. UALA ACCOMPLISHES THIS MISSION BY WORKING TO PROMOTE THE PHILOSOPHY AND CONCEPT OF ASSISTED LIVING THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF UTAH, BY INCREASING KNOWLEDGE, IMPROVING SKILLS, AND PROVIDING SOURCES OF COMMUNICATION FOR UALA MEMBERS, AND BY ASSISTING REGULATORY BODIES IN DEFINING STANDARDS AS THEY APPLY TO THE ASSISTED LIVING INDUSTRY.UALA ORGANIZES AND HOSTS AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE TO WHICH MOST, IF NOT ALL, OF THE OWNERS AND OPERATORS OF ASSISTED LIVING FACILITIES IN THE STATE OF UTAH ARE INVITED TO ATTEND. THE ONE-DAY CONFERENCE BRINGS TOGETHER UNDER ONE ROOF THE OWNERS AND OPERATORS OF THESE ASSISTED LIVING FACILITIES, AS WELL AS VARIOUS VENDORS WHO SUPPORT THESE FACILITIES, FOR THE PURPOSE OF IMPROVING THE SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE FACILITIES THROUGH EDUCATION AND COLLABORATION, AS WELL AS TO ENHANCE THE REPUTATION AND IMPROVE THE FOOTPRINT OF THESE FACILITIES IN THE VARIOUS COMMUNITIES IN WHICH THEY OPERATE. UALA ALSO HAS A QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER WHICH IT SENDS TO ALL OF ITS MEMBERS. THE PURPOSE OF THE NEWSLETTER IS TO EDUCATE AND INFORM UALA'S MEMBERS CONCERNING RECENT TRENDS AND CHANGES IN THE INDUSTRY, EITHER THROUGH NEW LEGISLATION OR REGULATIONS, OR THROUGH NEW TECHNOLOGY OR IMPROVED METHODS OF OPERATION.
