OPERATION SCHOOL BELL PROVIDES K-8 STUDENTS WITH NEW SCHOOL CLOTHES, BACKPACKS, AND SHOES. CHILDREN ATTENDING UNIFORM SCHOOLS RECEIVE A NEW HOODIE PLUS A $75.00 VOUCHER TO BE REDEEMED FOR CLOTHING AND SHOES AT ANY BURLINGTON STORE. CHILDREN ATTENDING NON-UNIFORM SCHOOLS RECEIVE A BACKPACK FILLED WITH A WEEK'S WORTH OF NEW CLOTHING, PLUS A $25 VOUCHER TO BE USED TO BUY SHOES AT A BURLINGTON STORE. SINCE STARTING IN 1995, OPERATION SCHOOL BELL HAS HELPED OVER 84,000 STUDENTS. LAST YEAR WE SERVED APPROXIMATELY 4,280 STUDENTS.
STARTING OVER SUPPLIES PARTNERS WITH 33 SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCIES AND OTHER CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS IN TUCSON TO PROVIDE KITS OF BASIC NEW HOUSEHOLD SUPPLIES TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WHO HAVE LEFT SHELTERS OR ABUSIVE HOME SITUATIONS TO LIVE INDEPENDENTLY. THESE KITS ARE PACKED AT OUR PHILANTHROPIC PROGRAMS CENTER AND ARE PICKED UP BY AGENCY WORKERS WHO DELIVER THEM TO THEIR CLIENTS IN NEED.
ASSAULT SURVIVOR KITS HELPS RESTORE DIGNITY TO SURVIVORS OF PHYSICAL, SEXUAL AND EMOTIONAL ASSAULT WITH CLOTHING, TOILETRY KITS, AND SNACKS. ASSISTANCE LEAGUE OF TUCSON JOINS WITH THE SOUTHERN ARIZONA CENTER AGAINST SEXUAL ASSAULT (SACASA), SOUTHERN ARIZONA CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER (SACAC), AND EMERGE! TO ALLOW THE HEALING PROCESS TO BEGIN.
