OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS THE OPPORTUNITY FOR AN INCLUSIVE CATHOLIC EDUCATION IN A CATHOLIC SCHOOL THEY ATTEND WITHIN THE TERRITORY OF THE ARCHDIOCESE OF DENVER.

WE CONTINUED OUR FUNDRAISING EFFORTS IN 2022 IN ORDER TO MAKE GRANTS TO SCHOOLS FOR THE 2022/2023 SCHOOL YEAR. DURING THE COURSE OF 2022, THE BOARD OF THE FIRE FOUNDATION MADE GRANT COMMITMENTS TO 3 SCHOOLS WITHIN THE ARCHDIOCESE OF DENVER TOTALING $94,669. SUCH COMMITMENTS WERE PARTIALLY PAID IN 2022 AND THE REMAINDER OF THESE OBLIGATIONS WILL BE PAID DURING THE FIRST HALF OF 2023. ONGOING FUNDRAISING EFFORTS IN 2022 HAVE PROVIDED THE BOARD OF THE FIRE FOUNDATION WITH ADDITIONAL RESOURCES TO MAKE NEW GRANT COMMITMENTS TO QUALIFYING SCHOOLS FOR THE 2023/2024 SCHOOL YEAR DURING THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2023. THIS WILL ALLOW CATHOLIC SCHOOLS PRACTICING INCLUSIVE EDUCATION OF CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES WITH MUCH NEEDED RESOURCES TO EXPAND AND ENHANCE SUCH EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS.
THE FIRE FOUNDATION WAS ABLE TO PROVIDE GRANT FUNDING OF $20,000 TO THE OFFICE OF CATHOLIC SCHOOLS OF THE ARCHDIOCESE OF DENVER IN ORDER TO PARTIALLY FUND THE SALARY FOR A NEW POSITION, THE DIRECTOR OF STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES. THIS POSITION OVERSEES AND ASSISTS SCHOOLS IN EDUCATING CHILDREN WITH SIGNIFICANT SPECIAL NEEDS THROUGHOUT THE ARCHDIOCESE OF DENVER. IN ADDITION, THE ORGANIZATION WAS ABLE TO PROVIDE PROGRAM FUNDING OF $35,104 FOR EDUCATORS TO ATTEND VARIOUS CONFERENCES FOCUSED ON SPECIAL NEEDS EDUCATION.
