SPONSOR A CHAMPION PROGRAM: THROUGH COLLECTIVE GIVING BY DONORS, MONTHLY STIPENDS OF $40 EACH WERE GIVEN DIRECTLY TO 15 SENEGALESE YOUTH IN DAKAR, SENEGAL, WHO WERE IDENTIFIED AS TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONS, AND LACKED THE MEANS TO PURSUE THEIR EDUCATION AND/OR PARTICIPATE IN ATHLETIC TRAINING. THESE MEAGER STIPENDS PROVIDED BUS TRANSPORTATION, SUPPLEMENTAL FOODS AND DRINKS, AND IN SOME CASES SCHOOL FEES.
SUMMER CAMP LAMINE DIACK: SPONSORED THE SECOND ANNUAL THREE-WEEK DAY CAMP (AUGUST 08-26, 2022) FOR 100 YOUTH IN DAKAR, AGES 9-15, FOR THE PRACTICE OF TRACK AND FIELD AND EDUCATIONAL AND LEADERSHIP ENRICHMENT EXPERIENCES. PROVIDED FOOD AND DRINKS, PROPER APPAREL, INCLUDING RUNNING SHOES (MANY CAME BAREFOOT TO THE CAMP), AND DAILY TRANSPORTATION. COACHING AND MENTORING BY ADULTS WAS VOLUNTARY. FACILITIES AT THE COLLEGE OF SACRE COEUR WERE DONATED.
