THE MISSION OF BLUE CHANNEL IS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR CHILDREN, YOUNG ADULTS AND FAMILIES THROUGH AFFORDABLE HIGH QUALITY MENTAL THERAPY PROVIDED BY THERAPISTS AND INTERNS IN EYE MOVEMENT DEDENSITIZATION REPROCESSING (EMDR) THERAPY.

BLUE CHANNEL THERAPY MEETS THE IRS CHARITABLE PURPOSES INCLUDING RELIEF OF THE POOR, THE DISTRESSED OR UNDERPRIVILEGED, ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION, LESSENING THE BURDENS OF GOVERNMENT, LESSENING NEIGHBORHOOD TENSIONS, ELIMINATING PREJUDICE AND DISCRIMINATION, COMBATING COMMUNITY DETERIORATION AND JUVENILE DELIQUENCY.IN JUNE OF 2022 WE STARTED TO HIRE MORE STAFF AND EXPEND LCATIONS. BY THE END OF 2022, WE HAD HIRED 8 ADDITIONAL PART AND FULL TIME EMPLOYEES AND BROUGHT ON 7 INTERNS. WE ADDED 2 MORE OFFICE LOCATIONS, FOR A TOTAL OF 3 LOCATIONS. THIS GREATLY INCREASED OUR CAPACITY TO OVER 350 CLIENTS, 70% OF WHICH WERE MEDICAID MEMBERS AND THE REMAINING 30% A COMBINATION OF PRO-BONO, REDUCED RATE/SLIDING SCALE AND PRIVATE INSURANCE CLIENTS. WE TRAINED 10 PEOPLE IN EMDR THERAPY.
