Part 3
IN 2022 WE HELD BOTH IN PERSON AND ONLINE GATHERINGS. OUR WINTERSTAR SYMPOSIUM TOOK PLACE ONLINE VIA ZOOM BETWEEN FEBRUARY 10 - 13, 2022. WE PROVIDED CLASSES, CONCERTS, A COMMUNITY CHAT CHANNEL, AND AUDIO-VISUAL PERFORMANCES ONLINE. ABOUT HALF OF THE 100+ ATTENDEES WERE VOLUNTEERS, MANY DONATED MONEY IN ADDITION TO THEIR TIME. OUR GOAL WAS TWO-FOLD: BRINGING TOGETHER OUR STARWOOD COMMUNITY ONLINE TO SOCIALIZE AND LEARN WITH LONG- TIME AND NEW FRIENDS. THIS EVENT ALSO RAISED THE STARTING FUNDS TO PUT ON OUR YEARLY COMMUNITY-BUILDING CAMPING EVENT: THE STARWOOD FESTIVAL. AFTER THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF THE WINTERSTAR SYMPOSIUM WE PLANNED AND EXECUTED THE STARWOOD FESTIVAL, WHICH TOOK PLACE AT WISTERIA EVENT SITE IN POMEROY, OHIO DURING JULY 12 - 18, 2022. OVER SEVEN HUNDRED PEOPLE ATTENDED THE 42ND STARWOOD FESTIVAL. WE PRESENTED APPROXIMATELY 150 WORKSHOPS, AND CURATED APPROXIMATELY 50 SEPARATE LIVE PERFORMANCES BY MUSICIANS, DANCERS, AND OTHER PERFORMING ARTISTS. WE ALSO FOSTERED ARTISTIC AND ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH OUR VIBRANT VENDING COMMUNITY. WE ARE HONORED TO BE "AMERICA'S LONGEST RUNNING TRANSFORMATIONAL FESTIVAL".
